Inked background flower card...

Good afternoon, dear Blogger buddies! Hope you've all had a wonderful weekend!
I'm here to share one of the cards that we made at workshop yesterday...

I thoroughly enjoyed making these, even though I wouldn't class myself as a stamper or particularly inky when it comes to cardmaking.  There was just something nice about starting with a white piece of card and building up all the layers to create a background with lots of depth and colour.
I started by randomly inking the two colours on an A6 piece of white cardstock, then spritzing with water and a toothbrush to create a fine mist, to soften the blend. I laid some lace over the top half of the card and inked through using the darker of the two inks, I also did the same with the negative of the sprig die cut to add some interest at the bottom.  I inked the edges with Vintage Photo and randomly stamped a small text stamp using Walnut Stain, then assembled the card.
I really liked the way they turned out and may have to try and get a little more inky in the future.
Thanks for dropping by,
Hugs,

Passion for Promarkers - Going Dotty...

Good morning, Blogger friends! I'm a little late posting for my challenge over at Passion for Promarkers, as I had to go away for a couple of days at short notice.  But I'm here now and hope you can join in with my fun challenge this week!
I've picked a nice, easy theme of 'Going Dotty', so whether it's big dots or polka dots, papers or ribbons, I want to be seeing spots! This week we're being sponsored by the wonderful Digistamp Boutique, who are offering one lucky winner a £10 voucher to their store...
Don't forget to be in with a chance of winning the prize, you must use your Winsor & Newton (formerly Letraset) products and follow the challenge theme...
...The lovely Sally Ann gave us the opportunity to choose an image to play with and I went with the Pretty Garden Flower Set.  These flowers were so easy to colour!...
I decided to make a C6 easel card and add jaunty layers, so it would still fit in a 6" square envelope.  The papers are all from my upcoming CD (which is almost done) and I added a pretty sprig die for a bit of floatiness...if that's even a word?! The sentiment came with the image set and is a nice change from the usual Happy Birthday, etc.
I hope you can find the time to play along with my challenge this week and look forward to seeing what you all create!

Passion for Promarkers - Add some Metal...

This card came in the Top 3 at As You Like it Challenge - thank you so much ladies!

Good morning, lovely peeps! Okay...who's going to own up?...Was it you?...Did you steal the last fortnight?! These days are just whizzing by at a phenomenal pace - I seem to turn around and another week has passed by, yet if you asked me, I couldn't tell you what I've done!?! I'm looking forward to the Easter holidays, which don't start for us until Friday and we're hoping to take Daisy out again at the weekend - if only to switch off for a couple of days.  But for now, it's Tuesday...so you know what that means?...
Yep! It's the start of a brand new challenge over at Passion for Promarkers! This week we have the lovely Julie in the hostess chair and she's give us a theme of 'Add some Metal' - so think charms, brads, pins, or even metallic papers or metallic embossing. We're being sponsored by Crafty Sentiment Designs who are offering one lucky winner 3 digi images from their online store...
We were lucky enough to be able to choose an image to work with, so I decided to ditch the pink and girly and go with something for the boys...
This is Henry - Why Not and I loved his boyish attitude! I coloured him up with my Pro/Flexmarkers and went with a black hair colour (something I don't do very often but which turned out rather well!) I paper pieced Henry's T shirt and the papers and sentiment are from A Year in Cards and Another Play on Words.  I found a fab metal star charm to add my 'something metal' and a strip of silver metallic linen too. No glitter, NO SIGNATURE 3 PEARLS - just a simple boy's card, which I think is perfect for any little man...but then I'm biased!...until tomorrow, because that's how fickle I am when it comes to my crafting - love it today, not so much tomorrow and completely disenamoured by the end of the week!?!
Right, what's on the agenda today? Looks like it may have to be ironing - one downfall to this nice, Spring weather. Have a terrific Tuesday, whatever you're up to and I'll be back soon to share the cards we made in class at the weekend...
Hugs,

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges :

This is a no brainer - has to be my Promarkers! I love the vibrancy of colour that they give and find that no other medium gives the same finish. I do like to have a go at watercolouring but wouldn't want to be without my trusty pens!
