Altered box...

WARNING : LONG POST DUE TO MY ABSENCE! (It's about time, I know!)

Hi everyone...No, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth!  I've just got my designer hat on at the moment and am on a roll and don't want to jinx it!  I do feel as though I have been neglecting my blog, so decided to put back on my crafter's hat today and have a play! (Although this did take me a few hours and so I've got absolutely no housework done! Oh what a pity, never mind!) ;)

I so enjoyed making the project that I have to share with you today, which is an altered project using an empty Toblerone Tobelle box...
...I'm really into altering things at the minute and tend to see a project in everything, so no doubt there'll be more in the future!  I started by covering the box with a patchwork of First Edition papers (Summer Breeze and Spring Feast)...
...then set about decorating and choosing an image.  I decided on my own Scarecrow image, which is available in my design shop here...
...I 3D paper pieced the image, which took ages - though it is so hard to show the depth in a photograph, here's the best I could do...

...I know, I'll never make photographer of the year!  I created the embossed panel across the centre using a technique that I saw Sue Wilson do on C&C last week and have to say am very impressed with the results and shall be doing more!  I added a heart doily some fine ribbon and a small sunflower charm for a bit of bling.  I also covered the sides and inside of the box to finish...
...Hope you like my little project and that it gives you the inspiration to have a go at altering something yourselves!   Only problem is, once you start, if it stands still long enough, it'll get altered!

I have a couple of other things to share with you since I've been away, the first I have to say a big thank you to my lovely Auntie Di who taught me how to make sugarpaste roses...oh my word, yet another craft I need to do!
... I was so pleased for my first attempt ever!
...The next things I have to share are courtesy of my little man who's 8.  He loves baking and with the smallet amount of supervision from me made the most wonderful lemon drizzle cake I have ever tasted! WARNING THE FOLLOWING IMAGE MAY CAUSE DROOLING!
...It only lasted 2 days!  Finally, little man sat at my craft table this morning (before I made a mess all over it!) and painted a fantastic landscape scene...
...it was so good, I had to mount and frame it, and it will be proudly displayed on the wall for all to see!  An artist in the making?!  Well that's it from me, I suppose I've waffled long enough - have a great weekend and I hope to be back soon!  Lisa X
