Chocolate and signs...

Good afternoon, my lovely Blogging friends!  Well, today is my eldest son's 17th Birthday (don't know how that happened!?!)...a HUGE Happy Birthday to my darling, Jason!  Now when it comes to presents for a 17 year old, things get difficult - especially as his only interest at the moment is Skypeing his girlfriend 24/7!  Thankfully, a couple of weeks ago, I decided to take the plunge into the wonderful world of Pinterest...OH MY WORD!...how did I not go on this sooner?!  I have ideas swimming around in my head for garden features, home decor, crafts and 101 gift ideas for next Christmas, but I also came across a fabulous gift just perfect for Jase...
...a chocolate bouquet!!  He is an absolute chocolate monster, so this will be right up his street! He is also getting money towards driving lessons as he had his provisional license as part of his Christmas presents...I will soon be entering into a whole new era of parenthood with me sat at home waiting for him to get in and panicking if he's 5 minutes late!
...Anyhow, after all my waffle, I do have a couple of crafty projects to share with you.  I picked up some wooden signs in the sale in B&M for...wait for it...10p each!  They had moustaches on, but this is what they look like now...
...The first one I made into a key hanger...
...and the second a pretty jewllery hanger.  I used 3 mini wooden bobbins as the hangers and found the apt saying online.  It was decorated with  a doily, MS clay frame, WOC paper flowers, cream satin ribbon, buckle slider, diamantes and silver liquid pearls.
Thanks for dropping by and don't forget there's still plenty of time to join in with our fun sketch challenge this week at Passion for Promarkers!
Hugs,
I'd like to enter my sparkle hanger into the following challenges :

  10. Great use of the plaques, what a fabulous idea they look great!

Your post made me giggle Lisa, I know exactly how you feel being the mother of two boys, been there done that, exactly what you were saying, especially the bit about skype, in our case it was the phone constantly glued to his ear, and it was the landline! mine are all grown up now and flown the nest, but you never stop worrying about them even then. Happy birthday Jason.
