Passion for Markers - Anything Goes...

Good morning, crafty buddies! Another brand new challenge started today over at Passion for Markers with the lovely Lorraine choosing a super simple theme of 'Anything Goes'... (it doesn't get any easier than that!...as long as you remember to use your markers (alcohol or watercolour) somewhere on your project)...

We're being sponsored by Uniko Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a choice of stamp set from their online store (must be in stock)...

For my DT card I used a super cute image from Wee Stamps and created a card for a little girl's first birthday...

I coloured her up with my Pro/Flexmarkers :

Skin - Putty, Tan, Cinnamon
Hair - Pastel Yellow, Champagne, Sandstone
Babygro - Pastel Pink, Cocktail Pink, Watermelon
Cake and bears - Sandstone, Cappuccino
Flowers - Blue Pearl, China Blue
Shadows - Pebble Blue

I used papers from my ever increasing scrap stash and added die cut clouds, hearts and the number 1. I dotted round a few gems and peel off stars and added a name and sentiment...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our easy peasy challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations!

Crafty hugs,

Don't forget, to be in with a chance of winning the prize, you MUST use your Letraset mediums and follow the challenge theme!
...I decided to make a card using the ever so cute Little Kitty from Sylvia Zet, which she kindly offered as a freebie on her blog HERE.  I have used this image quite a few times, but left off the little mouse this time...
...I used Dovecraft Garden Party and First Edition Kiss and Tell papers and a Marianne doily edge circle die.  Little Kitty was coloured using my Pro/Flexmarkers and a white Prismacolor pencil - want the colour list? Here it is :
Fur - Light Fawn, Champagne, Nutmeg, Spice
Hat - Blender, Tea Green, Pastel Green
Roses - Primrose, Canary, Tulip Yellow
Leaves - Apple, Grass, Forest Green
Shading on hat band and ribbon - Blender, Antique Pink, Ruby
I paper pieced the hat band and ribbon with the Pink Polka Dot from the Makeup set of Another Play on Words and decoupaged the hat and flowers for a bit of dimension....I added a couple of clouds (because I can and because I love them!), buttons, pearls and a hand stamped sentiment, plus a touch of glitter to lift the image. The card was finished off inside with a printed insert and I was done!

Passion for Promarkers - Blue Skies...

Good morning, dear Blogger buddies and a happy Tuesday to you all!  The last day of March is upon us and I hope you've all recovered from the clock change here in the UK?  I love this time of year with longer days and the hope of warmer weather, it gives me so much more energy after hibernating for the last few months!
Today sees the start of a new challenge over at Passion for Promarkers and this week it's the lovely Julie in the hostess chair and she's chosen the theme 'Blue Skies', so we'd like to see blue as the predominant colour on your projects.  This week we are sponsored by the fabulous Little Claire Designs who are offering one lucky winner this sweet stamp set called 'Changing Birdhouse'...

http://www.littleclaire.co.uk/

Don't forget, to be in with a chance to win the prize, you MUST use your Letraset products, i.e. Pro/Flexmarkers, Tria, Aqua, Neon/Metallic markers and follow the theme.
...I had a wedding card ordered so thought I would...stab too pickles with one fork (I don't really like the saying kill two birds with one stone!) and create a card using this week's theme. I have to say, I am really pleased with how it turned out!...
...I used the ever so sweet Wee Bird Swing, coloured with my Pro/Flexmarkers and highlighted with crystal glitter. I also used my latest toy, the pierced fishtail dies (thanks for getting them for me Carol, I love them!)...
Card Recipe -
Image - Wee Bird Swing by Sylvia Zet

Leafy Sizzix Texturz embossing plate
Spellbinders Floral Ovals
Spellbinders Sue Wilson Pierced Fishtails

I added a printed insert to the inside, using the same blue damask paper and a simple verse.

Passion for Promarkers - Bloomin' Marvellous!...

Good morning, my lovelies, on this cold and frosty Tuesday here in North Wales!  It's been a bit of a shock to the system (and my central heating) having this cold snap, but it's better than the wet stuff we've been having!
Anyway, today sees the start of another challenge over at Passion for Promarkers and this week it's my turn to sit in the hostess chair!  I have chosen a nice, easy theme of Bloomin' Marvellous, so I would like to see those flowers on your creations...this could be a floral image, die cuts flowers, shop bought flowers or even a flower border!  Just remember to be in with a chance to win this week's prize, you MUST use your Letraset products (i.e. promarkers, flex markers, aqua markers, tria markers, metallic markers or neon markers).
Speaking of prizes, this week we are being sponsored by the fabulous Polka doodles and Nikki is offering one lucky winner the chance to get their mits on the gorgeous digi called ‘Fredericka debutante’.
...Last week, I was lucky enough to win this gorgeous Wee Stamps Sarah digi from the uber talented Mariska of Sending you a Little Smile (thanks Mariska!)...if you haven't seen this lady's work, then hop over to her blog and take a peek.  Her colouring and 3D paper piecing is AMAZING and her finished projects are always just beautiful!..
...Of course, I coloured Sarah with my Pro/Flexmarkers and thoroughly enjoyed doing so too!  I decided to go with a traditional Christmas colour combo and found some papers in my stash to match...
...To go with the challenge theme, I made a pointsettia style flower using my daisy and round petal flower punch and added a couple of mini larch cones, some sweetheart blossoms and mini roses from WOC.  I used a MS clay corner and frame which I made in brown clay and dry brushed with white emulsion (I am loving this technique and it's great on embossing too!) The pretty glitter ribbon is the last of a piece that I had on my scraps tin, so I may just have to buy some more!
Well there you have it, my second Christmas card of the year! (apart from workshop ones!)  I am really pleased with how this little card came out, though it's another to add to the 'awaiting boxes' pile!
I hope you can find the time to join in with our challenge this week and look forward to visiting all of your blogs to see your wonderful creations!  Don't forget to hop on over to the Passion for Promarkers blog to see what my talented teamies have been up to!

Passion for Promarkers - Oh Baby!...

Good morning, wonderful Blogger friends and a Happy Tuesday to you all!  Today is the start of a brand new challenge over at Passion for Promarkers, with Team 1 on duty and the lovely Shelly setting the theme for us this week which is 'Oh Baby!'.  (Shelly had a little girl of her own (Darcie) in July, so this theme was a bit of a no-brainer really!)...

This week we are sponsored by the amazing Letraset who are offering one lucky winner a set of 6 Metallic Markers - perfect for all those Christmas creations you'll be making!

Don't forget, to be elligible to win the prize, you must use your Letraset markers and follow the theme.

...I decided to make a shaped card base for my card this week and dug out my Go Kreate Frilly Frame #2 dies.  I went with a mainly blue with a hint of yellow colour scheme, using the baby boy papers from A Year in Cards and pierced and inked the edges with Stormy Sky DI...
...I used the ever so cute Wee Birthday Baby Boy image and coloured him with my Pro/Flexmarkers.  Here's the colour list I used :
Skin - Blush, Dusky Pink, Coral
Hair - Buttercup. Champagne, Sandstone
Romper suit - Glacier, Powder, Cloud Blue, Tan, Primrose, Buttercup
Cake - Vanilla, Shale, Umber
Mouse - Satin, Tan, Blush, Dusky Pink
Cherry - Shocking Pink, Vermillion, Maroon
The image is highlighted with crystal glitter and Liquid Pearls in White and Bisque...
...I punched some flowers using a Make Me star flower and XCut mini blossom punch, inked and shaped and added diamante or pearl centres.  The leaves are from the Cheery Lynn Leaf Border strip die...
...I stamped the individual letters to read 'baby boy' and created the Congratulations sentiment in PS using Cheddar Jack font...
...the inside is decorated with a printed sentiment panel with a simple verse from Verses4cards.
I hope you can find the time to join in with our challenge this week and thanks for coming to visit me!  Don't forget to hop on over to the Passion for Promarkers blog to see the wonderful creations that my fabulous teamies have been creating for your inspiration!

Swing card...

Good morning, Blogland!  Hope you're all having a relaxing Sunday?!  I've been having a hop around Blogland recently to find some more blogs to add to my reading list and came across the lovely Norma at From My Craft Room...I know, you're probably all saying 'where have you been?!'  If you haven't visited her blog before, her cards and colouring are FABULOUS!  She made a tutorial for creating a swing card HERE which is so easy to follow that I decided to have a go and this is what I came up with...
...I used my Spellbinders Scalloped Square dies for the swing shape and some foiled cardstock that the lovely Carole (from our workshop) gave me...
...I needed to make an engagement card for a family member, so used the sweet Wee Stamps Love Birds freebie from Sylvia Zet, coloured with Pro/Flexmarkers and paper pieced the heart with a small gingham pattern.  I created the flowers from my different sized daisy punches and loved both making them and how they turned out!  I added some Cheery Lyn Leaf Strip border leaves and pearls to the flower centres...
...Inside I created a panel with a nice verse on and a sentiment, cut with SBs Beaded Ovals...
...All the edges were inked with various Distress Inks and I finished with a couple of polka dot buttons.  I really like this card shape and will be having a go at some more in the future!
Thanks to Norma for the fab tutorial that made me have another go at this clever kinetic card and I'm really happy with the way it turned out!  Hope you get chance for some craftiness this sunny Sunday and thanks for dropping in to see me!
Huge crafty hugs,

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges :

Passion for Promarkers - Have a Heart...

Good morning, my lovelies!  It's Tuesday again, which means the start of another new challenge over at Passion for Promarkers and this week it's the lovely Shelly playing hostess.  Being Valentine's week, she's chosen the theme 'Have a Heart', so we'd like to see at least one heart somewhere on your project!  This week we have 2 fabulous sponsors offering up some yummy prizes - firstly we have Letraset and secondly Angel Crafts...

Don't forget to be eligible to win the prize, you MUST use your Letraset products (i.e. promarkers, flex markers, aqua markers, tria markers, metallic markers or neon markers) and of course follow the theme.

...So, for today's card, I have used another of my recent Wee Stamps purchases, called Bird Swing - don't you just love these little sweeties?!  I used the same layout as for my last post (which I'm sure I'll be using again too!), the scrummy papers are from a Paper Cellar pack that Mum picked up for me, called Floral 1 (original!?) and my trusty First Edition Boho Chic...
..I coloured the birdies with my Pro/Flexmarkers, though unfortunately my colour list seems to have gone AWOL - this is what happens when I pretend to be organised and try to get ahead with my DT cards!  If it turns up, I'll update the colours for you!  I added some Red Stickles to the roses, though it doesn't show very well in the photo and my Memory Box Precious Hearts die, fulfilled the challenge theme - still love these dies!...
...I shaped the bottom of the card by drawing around my scalloped border die and hand cutting, then layered one of the border dies above.  A blue satin ribbon and bow and another Precious Heart finished the card.  I added a printed insert with the line image and just a sentiment saying 'With Love', so it could be for Valentine's, an engagement, anniversary, etc.
Hope you like my creation and if you can 'Have a Heart' and join in with this week's challenge, we'd love to see what you make too!  Thanks for dropping by and don't forget to hop on over to the Passion for Promarkers blog to see what my wonderful teamies have been up to!
Big hugs,
Lisa x

Oh no, it's snow!!!...

Good morning, my lovely Blogging friends!  Firstly, I must apologise for being MIA this week, only Mr Design Mojo decided to show his face and I was on a roll!  Last year, I got to the point where I wondered if I  would design again becuase of my lack of enthusiasm and with the uncertainty concerning our house refurbishment, but it seems, I have found some mojo at last!

Anyway...as I sit here typing this, this is the view from my front door...

...HUGE, cotton wool ball snowflakes are just cascading from a white sky!  There isn't a breath of wind and the silence is surreal!  It's coming down thick and fast and already sticking on the road...our fickle British weather never ceases to amaze me - if it carries on like this, they'll be sending my eldest home from school as it's 8 miles away!
Well, I do have a little crafty creation to share with you today (thank goodness, you say!) so without further ado, here it is...
This card came in the Top 3 at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #245 - thanks for choosing me!
...This is the other card that I made using the ever so sweet Sympathy Bugs from Wee Stamps.  I coloured this one in very soft, muted colours and paired it up with a pretty paper from First Edition's Isabelle paper pad...
...I coloured the little bugs with my Pro/Flexmarkers and this is another one that I wrote the colours down on a bit of paper...famous last words!  I know it was Cool Grey 1, 3 & 4, Light Fawn, Aquamarine, Muted Pink, Pastel Beige, Soft Khaki, Khaki, Sandstone, Caramel, Umber, Blush...
...I drew around a scalloped border die to add detail to the card base and layered one of the borders on top.  I finished with some satin ribbon and bow, pearls, glitter and a little cameo using part of the image.  I added the sentiment 'Thinking of you' as this is going to go to  my lovely Auntie Di, who is a little bit poorly at the moment and I thought it might cheer her up a  touch!
Thanks for dropping in on me today and I hope that the weather is being kind wherever you are - we're up to about an inch of snow already, in the time it's taken me to type this!  Have a great Monday and I'll be back tomorrow with a new challenge for Passion for Promarkers!  See you soon,
Big crafty hugs,
Lisa x
I'd like to enter my card into the following challneges :

Happy February!...

Good morning, dear Blogging buddies and Happy 1st February to you all!  (Who stole January?!  Looks like this year is going to be another flyer!)  At the moment, the sun is actually shining and there's lovely ice patterns all over the cars, but I'm sure it won't last!

I thought I'd pop in and share a card with you that I made using the ever so sweet Sympathy Bugs from Wee Stamps - this was another present to self over the Christmas period as I have been hankering after them for a while!...
...For this one, I decided to make them a bit happier and used brighter colours, though I have done them very muted too (will share that one another time!)  I love pink and green as a colour combo, so out came my First Edition Love Letters pad for the pretty floral paper.  I kept the design quite simple and used one of my favourite dies (SB Floral Ovals) to frame the image, then cut a faux nestie by hand for the pink layer...
...My little bugs were coloured using Pro/Flexmarkers and highlighted with some crystal glitter.  I have lost the piece of paper with my colours on, but will have a go at listing the colours - just don't hold me to it!! :
Bugs - Light Fawn, Sandstone, Caramel, Satin, Tan, Shale, Antique Pink, Ruby
Wings - Muted Pink, Tea Rose, Watermelon, Honeydew, Pastel Green, Soft Green
Branch - Sandstone, Caramel, Cocoa, Umber, Meadow, Leaf, Bright Green, Muted Pink, Tea Rose
...I used a Nellie border die to extend the paper, so the whole thing fits on an A5 landscape card and finished with a hand cut fishtail flag (I'd still love the MFT fishtail flags,, but can't justify the cost just now!) and some little polka dot buttons.  I haven't done anything to the inside yet, as I don't know what occasion this card will be for, but always finish my cards with a printed insert or decorate the inside...we'll see!
So that's it from me today, I hope that the weather is being kind to you, wherever you are and that February starts as a Happy one!  Enjoy your weekend and don't forget that there's still chance to enter into our Anything Goes challenge over at Passion for Promarkers - it's a nice easy one, so no excuse!!
See you Soon,
Lisa x
