First Workshop Cards of 2022...

Good afternoon, everyone from a sunny North Wales! We had our first 'in person' craft workshop on the 5th of this month and it was so nice to see everyone after two whole years of having to go postal! I think we were all a little rusty, myself included, but that's to be expected and I'm sure we'll soon get back into the swing of things!...

Anyway, I thought I would pop in and share the cards that we made...

First up was a wallet card that was inspired by a post I had seen by the talented Lady E (Emilia Sieradzan) - this was a bit of a challenge to try and show a room full of people that are socially distanced, but we got there in the end! And here's the inside...

Secondly we created a pretty butterfly spanner card, which is such a simple but effective card design, as there is an acetate strip along the bottom of the card which separates it into two flaps...

I got the inspiration on Pinterest HERE - thanks Lisa's Stamp Studio!

It's day 5 of me testing positive for Covid and there are no signs of it letting up just yet - the line appeared instantly and really boldly when the fluid even touched it this morning! I'm getting really fed up of it now though and just want to get back to some sort of normality, but on the same strength, know I have symptoms and don't want to spread it around...here's hoping tomorrow brings a negative result!

Thanks for dropping by and sorry for not being around very much, it's funny how life changes and things take on different priorities...we are lucky to be busy with the business at the minute, so all of my attention is going into helping out with that (before I had Covid!). Crafting for pleasure has become a rarity and I find that I tend not to choose crafting when I have spare time just now...I think I am becoming more of a seasonal crafter, making more when the days are short and the weather cold, but who knows what the future holds?!

Passion for Markers - Anything Spring...

Good morning, crafty friends! It would seem that Spring has arrived in our little corner of the world and it's forecast fine and sunny for the week ahead...yay!

The lovely Julie has a topical theme this week over at Passion for Markers, choosing 'Anything Spring'...so it could be cute baby animals (there are lots of new lambs in the fields surrounding us), flowers, chicks, Easter or simply sitting in the garden drinking a cup of tea! (One of my favourite pastimes when the weather is like this!)...

We're being sponsored by Pattie's Creations who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 3 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to get to choose an image to play with and I picked out the pretty Magnolia Branch, as it is one of the first flowers of Spring in my garden!

I kept my card clean and simple, allowing the image to be the star of the show! I coloured the flower up with my Pro/Flexmarkers and then fussy cut the lower edge, leaving a white border. I contrasted the pale pink flower with a strong, navy blue colour stamped with a sentiment from Altenew's Beautiful Day stamp set and mat onto the same pink tone. A couple of fishtail flags and some pink gems finished everything off...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our Spring challenge this week and look forward to hopping over to your blogs to see what you've created!

Passion for Markers - Clean and Simple...

Good afternoon, crafty friends! I'm a little late signing in today as I forgot to schedule my post and have been working this morning...but I'm here now to let you know about this week's new challenge over at Passion for Markers...

The lovely Sue is in the hostess chair with one of my favourite themes of 'Clean and Simple'...we're being sponsored by Polkadoodles who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 3 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out the ever so cute Scruff the Dog Gardening...

I coloured Scruff with my Pro/Flexmarkers and fussy cut him out leaving a white border, before decoupaging his head and the watering can for a bit more dimension. I inked my base card with Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxides and used some scrap strips to 'ground' my image. I splattered the card with both inks and finished off with a sentiment that came free with SC&P some time and a few coloured gems. I also added Glossy Accents to Scruff's nose, but it doesn't show in the photo?!...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to visitng your blogs!

Passion for Markers - Things with Wings...

Good morning, crafty buddies! Another Tuesday rolls around, which means it's time for a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers! This week it's the lovely Marlene in the hostess chair and she's picked the fun theme ' Things with Wings'...so whether it's birds or butterflies, dragons, fairies or even aeroplanes, we'd like to see them! Just remember that to be in with a chance of winning this week's prize, you MUST use your marker pens (alcohol or water based) and follow the challenge theme...

Our sponsor this week is the wonderful Uniko Stamps who are offering one random winner a choice of stamp set from their store (has to be in stock)...

For this week's card I used a stamp set that I picked up in the post Christmas sales 5 for £25 over at CraftStash...

This one is called The Seagulls by Daisy Mae Designs and I thought it would be good for making those awkward male cards...

Blender, Cool Grey 2, Pebble Blue , Canary, Sunflower, Gold, Sunset, Red, Poppy, Burgundy, Sapphire, Egyptian Blue, Midnight Blue, Cinnamon, Saddle Brown, Auburn, Umber, Sandstone, Cappuccino, Tan, Soft Peach

I used the background paper from the Lighthouse design set of Words at Play and a scrap of navy blue anchor paper from Seas the Day 12x12 scrapbook pad. I kept the image the main focal point of the card, creating the scene with the stamps and colouring with my Pro/Flexmarkers. I used the Daisy Mae Distressed Rectangle die as a mat for the image and added some twine and a couple of my favourite die cut clouds. The sentiment was a freebie with the Little Birds set that came free with SC&P and I finished with a few red star gems to pick up the accent colour of the life ring...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to visiting your blogs and seeing your fabulous creations!

Passion for Markers - Add a Sentiment...

Good morning, Blogger buddies! It's Tuesday again, which can only mean one thing...yep, that's right! A brand new challenge starts today over at Passion for Markers!...The lovely Marie is in the hostess chair this week with a super easy theme of 'Add a Sentiment'...it doesn't get much easier than that?!...

This week we're being sponsored by Crafty Sentiments who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 3 digital images from their online store...

I decided to use an image that I had in my stash and try to be organised making hubby's Valentine's card (but Ssssh! don't tell?!)...

I coloured up Benson Bear With Love using my Pro/Flexmarkers and fussy cut leaving a white border :

Vanilla, Champagne, Sandstone, Cappuccino, Blush, Sunkissed Pink, Coral
Cerise, Shocking Pink, Vermillion, Cardinal Red, Crimson, Cool Aqua, Duck Egg, Surf Blue
Prismacolor pencils for shading and fur texture

I started with a dusky pink 5x7 inch card base and added a muted pink stripe panel. I cut Daisy Mae Design's Distressed Rectangle die and inked the edges with Salty Ocean DO, then attached a (First Edition Love Letters) pink square, followed by a white heart die cut stamped with Avery Elle's With Love from the Everyday Circle Sentiments stamp set.

I added a strip of black and white dotty paper and a chevron in aqua tones (all from my scrap drawers) and then mounted the image using foam pads. I finished off with a couple of red gem hearts...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our easy challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations!

Passion for Markers - Embossing (Heat/Dry)...

Good morning, crafty friends! I'm dropping in to let you all know that a new challenge starts today over at Passion for Markers and the lovely Lorraine is in the hostess chair with a fun theme of 'Embossing' - this can be either Dry embossing (using folders/stencils, etc) or Heat embossing with powders...

We're being sponsored by SheepSki Designs who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 3 digital images from their online store...thanks, Andrea! Just remember, to be in with a chance of winning the prize, you MUST use your markers (alcohol or water based) and follow the challenge theme...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out the pretty Freesia Vase...

I coloured the image up using my Pro/Flexmarkers :

Ivory, Buttercup, Mustard, Gold, Honeycomb, Halloween, Sunset, Pear Green, Tea Green
and Bamboo, Camo Green Spectrum Noir pens

I cut a tag shape with Daisy Mae Design's Tag Die Set and added a faux nested layer on top that was embossed with Cuttlebug Vines embossing folder, before mounting onto a panel of wood effect paper, inked with Vintage Photo DI and corners rounded. I wrapped twine around the panel and mounted to the card base using foam tape, over an embossed panel of pale blue mounted on cream paper and a strip of aqua polka dot paper.

I stamped and heat embossed the Best Wishes sentiment from Avery Elle's Everyday Circle Tags set using a charcoal grey sparkle powder from Sizzix and mounted onto orange to compliment the flowers, also adding a couple of fishtail flag die cuts in the top right corner to balance it out. I finished off with a few gem and metallic pearl sprinkles...because, why not?!...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations!

Passion for Markers - Going Dotty...

Good morning, crafty friends and a Happy New Year to you all! It's Team 1's first challenge of the year over at Passion for Markers and I am playing hostess! For this week's challenge, I have picked a theme that I love...'Going Dotty'...I regularly use dotty papers and embellishments in my cards as I find they go with anything, so I would like to see all of your creations that have dots or spots - this could be dotty paper, enamel dot embellishments or even embossed dots...

We're being sponsored by The Paper Shelter who are offering one lucky winner 3 digital images from their online store...just remember that to be in with a chance of winning, you MUST use your marker pens (alcohol or water based) and follow the challenge theme...

I was lucky enough to get to choose this week's sponsor image and I picked out The Most Adorable Panda...and I think he is!...

In my attempt at being organised (still on target so far, but I am only a week into the year!?!) I created this card for my eldest son's birthday on Saturday...Happy 24th Birthday! I love a pun on a card, so couldn't resist using this sentiment with a nod to the current situation...

I coloured Panda with my Pro/Flexmarkers :

Blender, Ivory, Champagne, Pebble Blue, Storm Cloud, Cool Grey 5, Apple, Grass, Forest Green, Nutmeg, Cappuccino, Umber

I was inspired by the talented Inge Groot's card HERE and must admit that I love the way this little card turned out...I will definitely be colouring this cutie up again!

I hope you can find the time to play along with my fun challenge this week and look forward to visiting everyone's blogs to see their wonderful creations...
