Passion for Markers - Things with Wings...

Good morning, dear crafty friends! I hope you're all well and enjoying the Spring weather (if a little on the chilly side?!)...

I'm popping in this morning to let you all know about our brand new challenge which starts today over at Passion for Markers...the lovely Marlene is in the hostess chair with a topical theme of 'Things with Wings' - with the recent sunshine, there has been a definite increase in activity with winged beasts of all varieties!

We're being sponsored by Di's Digi Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a $6.00 voucher to spend in their online store...just remember to be in with a chance of winning the prize, you MUST use markers (of any variety) somewhere on your creation and follow the challenge theme...Good Luck!

For my card I used a new to me stamp from Stampavie called Blossom Birds...

 I coloured in using my Pro/Flexmarkers -

Birds - Putty, Tan, Cinnamon, Primrose, Buttercup, Blue Pearl
Flowers - Blender, Pale Pink, Dusky Rose, Antique Pink, Buttercup, Mustard, Sandstone
Leaves and branch - Soft Khaki, Pear Green, Olive Green, Umber
Outer shadow - Pastel Blue

I wanted to keep my card pretty simple and dug out my Taylored Expessions Leafy Vine embossing folder for the background...it's funny how I go through spells of not using something for a long time, as I haven't used my embossing folders for ages!...I added a strip of polka dot green paper and mat the image onto a fresh, sky blue coloured scalloped rectangle. I embellished with some die cut flowers and leaves, a pretty sentiment, some blue pearls and a touch of gold glitter on the flower stamens...et voila!

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations!

Passion for Markers - Add some flowers...

Hi there, crafty friends! Another brand new challenge starts today over at Passion for Markers with the lovely Marie in the hostess chair and she'd like you to 'Add some flowers'...so it could be floral papers, images, die cuts or embellishments...

We're being sponsored by Colour of Love who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 3 digital images from their online store...

Just remember that to be in with a chance of winning the prize, you must use markers somewhere on your project and it really helps if you let us know where you've used them!

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out 'Rory's Poppy Bouquet'...

I tried to go with a colour scheme that was different to my usual pink tones, colouring her in with my Pro/Flexmarkers and have to apologise again that I didn't write the colour list down (*note to self*...must try to be more organised - not just in crafting but in life in general?!)

I used papers from my stash and stamped some extra flowers from a Cardmaking Magic set, adding in some die cut leaves from the same set. A simple sentiment and some tiny gems for her necklace finished everything off...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our floral challenge this week (and if you do, could you send some my way as crafty time is rather sparse these days!) I look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations too...

Passion for Markers - Use Die Cuts...

Good morning, crafty friends! Well it's the last day of January (how did that happen?!) and time for a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers...

The lovely Lorraine is in the hostess chair with an easy theme of 'Use Die Cuts'...I know for me that it's very rare to create a card without a single die cut, so this one is super easy! We're being sponsored by Alex Syberia, who are new to the Passion for Markers family and have a great selection of pretty florals, fun and quirky images. They're offering one lucky winner a £10 voucher to spend on digital images/files in their online store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out Love U Giraffe...

I coloured up the Giraffe with my Pro/Flexmarkers :

Champagne, Sandstone, Cappuccino, Shale, Umber

Cool Aqua, Duck egg, Surf Blue

I wanted some foliage but found that die cut leaves didn't work well with the image, so stamped out some leaves from a Making Magic stamp set, coloured in Meadow Green, Apple and Forest Green and fussy cut laving a white border.

The papers and frame were from my ever increasing (instead of decreasing!) scrap drawers and the sentiment is from a Waffle Flower set. I added some die cut hydrangea flowers (from Lady E) and finished with a few pearls and a touch of glitter...

I am trying to use up scraps and elements that I already have cut from other projects but it still doesn't seem to make a dent in the amount of off cuts and bits that I have! I keep threatening a purge and maybe one of these days I'll have to just shut my eyes and fill the recycling bin?!...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations!

Passion for Markers - Going Dotty...

Good morning, crafty friends! Another Tuesday rolls around (rather quickly, I hasten to add!) which means that it's time for a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers!

This week I'm playing hostess and have picked out one of my favourite themes of 'Going Dotty'...so I'd like to see those dots and spots on your creations - whether it be dotty paper, dotty ribbon, embossed dots or dots on your images, then get them on your projects!

We're being sponsored by All Dressed Up Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 2 digital images from their online store...and there's lots to choose from!

I picked out the cute 'Birthday Monkey'...although he seems to have disappeared from the store just now, but I'm sure you could request him if you wanted!...

I coloured him up with my Pro/Flexmarkers and added some die cut leaves to the branches. I used dotty paper, embossed dot details and gave him some dots on his tummy and feet using peel off border waste. I am STILL trying to use up some of my ever growing scraps, although it seems to be a losing battle and I may have to have a purge soon! I added some die cut clouds because...well, why do I need a reason?!...and stamped the sentiment onto the larger, then finished with some red gems for berries and a touch of Glossy Accents on his nose...

I hope you can play along with my fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations!

Passion for Markers - New...

Hello there, dear crafty buddies and a Happy New Year to you! I hope you all had a wonderful festive period and are looking forward to 2023...

To kick things off, we have a brand new challenge starting today over at Passion for Markers - the lovely Julie is in the hostess chair and she's picked a topical theme of 'New'...so this could be new crafty stash, new images, or a 'New' theme, for example, new year, new home, new baby...

We're being sponsored by The Paper Shelter who are offering one lucky winner 3 digital images of their choice from the online store...just don't forget, to be in with a chance of winning the prize, you MUST use markers (alcohol or any other medium) somewhere on your creations (it also really helps if you let us know where)...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and Julie picked out the sweet 'Cabaret Lolly'...

I decided to go with a New Year theme, to use my new image and coloured Lolly up as a showgirl, using my Pro/Flexmarkers -

Skin - Blush, Dusky Pink, Sunkissed Pink, Coral, Cinnamon
Hat and leotard - Cool Grey 2, 4, 5 and Black
Tights - Putty, Tan, Cinnamon
Hat band and shoes - Red, Berry Red, Crimson, Burgundy
Stick - Cocoa, Henna, Umber

I stamped the background with a streamer stamp which came free with SC&P magazine last new year, embossing with gold and then inking with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide. I stamped a sentiment from the same set and added some die cut starburst shapes and a touch of gold glitter to her tights...I grounded the image by adding some red glitter patterned paper and a strip of gold foil patterned paper to the bottom of the card and mat everything onto a deep burgundy colour, before adding to a 6x6 scalloped card base...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations!...Once again (as always seems to be at this time of year), I have completely lost my Mojo...so if anyone finds some just lying around in the left over wrapping paper and Christmas chocolates, can you please send it in my direction? ...

Passion for Markers - Mega Christmas Challenge 'Use Die Cuts'...

Hello there, dear crafty friends! I can't quite believe that it is this time of year already, but here we are at the beginning of December, preparing for Christmas and the start of a New Year! It also means that it is time for our Mega Christmas Challenge over at Passion for Markers...

This challenge will run for a whole month and ends on 3rd January 2023!  This gives all of our Design Team members a chance to take a little break over the festive season and catch up on their last minute cards and gifts...however to make up for the lack of challenges we have some fantastic prizes up for grabs!

Our theme for the Mega Christmas challenge is “use die cuts”.  We don't mind what you create for this challenge, as long as you use some die cuts and colour with your markers!  You are welcome to make Christmas creations but as the challenge will still be running after the ‘BIG’ day you can of course make any type of creation.  As time is precious for our DT at this time of year we are limiting the number of entries you can make to just 3 for this month long challenge.

* Please remember to be eligible for our prizes you must use your markers such as Promarkers, Copics, Spectrum Noir, Karin, Zig Clean Color etc *

So now for the exciting bit – the prizes!

Wow, we are sure you’ll agree our sponsors have been super generous once again this year!  We are so grateful to have their continued support.

We have asked both design teams to share some inspiration with you but as it such a long challenge we will be posting the inspiration from Team 1 today and then in two week’s time we will be posting inspiration from Team 2.

So here's a look at my contribution...

Once again, I managed to avoid that event that is looming on the near horizon and went for a pretty floral creation using a new stamp and die set that I picked up in one of the various sales?! I coloured the little flower sprigs with my Pro/Flexmarkers :

Flowers - Pink Pearl, Sorbet, Fuchsia Pink, Orchid, Wild Orchid, Amethyst, Apple Green
Vase - Pebble Blue, Blender

I kept my card in my ever favourite CAS style with an inked background and although somewhat happy with the result, I feel it is a little off balance and everything could have done with being lower on the card...but hey, ho! I'll know for next time!...

So to re-cap the challenge will run until 3rd January 2023 and you can enter a maximum of 3 times.  Unfortunately during the Mega Christmas challenge we will not be choosing a Top 5 Passionista but this will re-commence for the first challenge in 2023.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and wish you every happiness in the coming year!

Crafty hugs,

Passion for Markers - Traditional Christmas colours...

Good evening, crafty buddies! I'm a little late posting today, but am here to let you know about this week's new challenge over at Passion for Markers...

The lovely Sue is in the hostess chair this week and has picked a topical theme of 'Traditional Christmas colours'...As the title suggests Sue doesn’t mind what you create or what theme you follow (so it doesn't have to be a Christmas card, as you can see?!) as long as you use traditional Christmas colours i.e. red, green, gold etc along with any neutrals you want to use...

We are being sponsored by Colour of Love digis who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 2 digital images from their online store...

As you will see, I avoided the theme of 'that event that happens in December'...Christmas starts early enough for me, so I'm being the rebel of the Design Team?!...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out Aiyanna Indian Maiden...

I coloured her up with my Pro/Flexmarkers and used my Prismacolor pencils for some added detail in a traditional red, gold and green colour combination...I know....you're singing it in your head now, aren't you?! ha, ha!

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations...

Crafty hugs,

Lisa x
