Passion for Markers - Holidays...

Good morning, crafty friends! It's a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers with the lovely Julie choosing a topical theme of 'Holidays'...these can be any type of holiday, including that event that happens in December?!...or something you might do whilst on holiday, maybe scuba diving or mountain climbing! (Doesn't sound like a holiday to me?! Ha, ha!)...

We're being sponsored by LeAnn's World who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 2 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to be able to choose an image to play with and I picked out 'Travelling Tricia' and made a suitcase shaped card...

I used a new pocket die that I HAD to purchase after seeing a cute card by Dee Lamb over in the Tracey Hey and Pals Facebook group, colouring Tricia up with my alcohol markers and just using the main image and suitcase from the design...

Skin - Dusky Pink, Sunkissed Pink, Coral
Hair - Pastel Yellow, Mocha (SN), Cappuccino
Top - Cool Aqua, Duck Egg, Surf Blue, Petrol Blue
Jeans - Blue Pearl, Chine Blue
Bag - Champagne, Sandstone, Cerise, Shocking Pink, Vermillion
Suitcase - Pebble Blue, Storm Cloud, Cool Grey 5, Cerise, Shocking Pink, Vermillion, Cool Aqua, Duck Egg

The card base itself is just a rounded rectangle with added elements for the wheels and handle, plus there's a pocket on the back to add a gift card or maybe some holiday money??

I hope you can join in with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing how you interpret the theme...

Passion for Markers - Clean and Simple...

Good morning, crafty friends! It's another hot and sunny Tuesday here in North Wales and the start of a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers...the lovely Sue is in the hostess chair with an easy theme of 'CAS or Clean and Simple'...so ditch the decorations and banish the bling, this time less is more!...

We're being sponsored by SheepSki Designs who are offering one lucky winner 3 digital images of their choice from the online store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out the fun 'Tropical Image no.239'...

I coloured him up with my alcohol markers and the colour list is as follows :

Bird - Black, Storm Cloud, Cool Grey 2
Beak - Sunset, Bright Orange, Pumpkin, Gold, Pebble Blue, Storm Cloud
Bib - Gold, Primrose, Blender
Leaves - (SN) Pale Citrus, Lime Green, Grass, Alpine Green
Branch - (SN) Mocha, Umber, Coffee Bean
Flower - Baby Pink, Cocktail Pink, Blender, Vermilion, Shocking Pink

I cut out a circle from copy paper and used this as a stencil to create the inked sun behind the bird, using Squeezed Lemonade and Wild Honey Distress Oxides and added a stamped sentiment from the Little Birdies freebies on SC&P magazine. I mat the panel onto a navy blue pearl card base and finished with some peel off border and a few gems...

I did actually make another card first, but on upload didn't think that it was simple enough for the challenge theme, though I do love how it turned out and even stepped out of my pastel comfort zone for a change!...

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week...I look forward to visiting your blogs and seeing all of your wonderfully simple makes this week...

Passion for Markers - Make it Square...

Good morning, crafty buddies! Another Tuesday whizzes around with a brand new challenge starting at Passion for Markers...

This week it's the lovely Marlene in the hostess chair with a simple theme of 'Make it Square'...so ditch the circles, banish the triangles and come be a square with us!...We're being sponsored by the talented Rachel Ann Miller who is offering one lucky winner a choice of 2 digital images form her online store...

We were lucky enough to get to work with Rachel's latest 'Positivity' release on our DT cards this week and I chose the 'Feel like Sunshine' image to play with...

I will be honest and admit that this was a rushed, last minute creation after getting our Team weeks mixed up (I blame the change over after our Anniversary challenge?!) and so I'm not sure whether I like the finished result or not?!...I do love the image and might even make a larger, framed version for in my hallway...when I can get some crafty motivation that is!...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to visiting  your blogs and seeing your wonderful creations...

Oh, and if you'd like to make the 3D box frame that I used for this card, there's a tab at the top of the blog labelled Tutorials where you can find the template and full step by step instructions...happy crafting!

For my card I used the ever so fun 'Edna' by JMC Designs (although I think she may have been retired now)... I coloured her up with my Pro/Flexmarkers but sadly forgot to write down the colour list...

I am struggling to find crafty time at the moment, mainly due to work commitments and the fact that when the sun is shining, I hate being indoors?! But I do hope that you can find the time to play along with our special challenge this week and be in with a chance of winning some fantastic prizes!...

Passion for Markers - Layer it Up...

Good morning, crafty buddies! It's time for another new challenge over at Passion for Markers and this week the lovely Marie has chosen a theme of 'Layer it Up'...so ditch the CAS and embrace the layers - whether it be multiple paper layers or decoupage elements, this time more is more!...

We're being sponsored by Jan's Digi Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a $6.00 voucher to spend in their online store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I went with the pretty 'Traces of Spring'...

I coloured the pretty pansies using my Pro/Flexmarkers, decoupaging the main flower and leaves, and here's the colour list I used...

Flowers - Primrose, Vanilla, Mustard, Gold, Lilac, Wild Orchid
Leaves - Lime Zest, Apple, Forest, Holly
Small flowers - Soft Peach, Rose Peach, Sunset, Yellow
Stems and shadows - Tan, Tea Green, Storm Blue

I raided my scrap drawers for papers to coordinate with my image (I know, I know...you're supposed to do it the other way round?!) and just played about with a layout until I was happy! When I'd finished, I felt that the crad needed some sort of contrast as everything was very pale and delicate, so dug out some scalloped peel off borders and used them round the edge to look like a doodled border...this drew the eye to the centre of the flowers...or that was my intention anyway!?! I finished off with a couple of tag die cuts, a touch of glitter and a sprinkling of gems...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations...

Passion for Markers - Frame it!...

Good morning, crafty friends! Another Tuesday comes around with a brand new challenge starting over at Passion for Markers...this week it's the lovely Lorraine in the hostess chair with a fun theme of 'Frame it!' - so we would like to see a frame somewhere on your projects...

We're being sponsored by Dr Digi's House of Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 2 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to be able to pick out an image to play with and I decided to go for a masculine theme (for hubby's birthday next month, but Ssssshhhhh! Don't tell him!) and chose 'Ford Popular' as our business refurbishes parts for classic cars...

I really liked the layout of this card and similar ones that I found on Pinterest (I must admit, I love all of Ewa's creations and am now going to be stalking her blog!) and thought it would be a perfect layout for this week's theme...

I coloured the Ford Pop with my Pro/Flexmarkers and yes, I do have a colour list for you...am I getting good at this?!...

Blender, Champagne, Sandstone, Cappuccino

Cool Aqua, Duck Egg, Storm Blue

Cool Grey 2, 4, 5, Storm Cloud and Umber

I used a couple of square stitched dies to create the frames  and cut 9 of them out of dark brown cardstock. I mat them onto an old scrapbook script paper that is getting down to the last pieces in my scrap drawer and then onto a distressed aqua paper. I coloured and cut out 2 of the Ford Pops, then cut one in half, mounting them with foam pads fr a touch of dimension...

I embellished with some arrow dies, stars, my favourite Yana sentiment dies and a circle label to look like a road sign. I really like the way this one turned out and shall definitely be taking more inspiration from Ewa's blog...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful makes...

Passion for Markers - Pretty Pastels...

Well hello there, crafty friends! Gosh these weeks really are whizzing by and we're already over a quarter of the way through the year, but I hope you all managed to enjoy the Easter weekend and hopefully catch some sunshine wherever you are!...

It's that time again, to announce our brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers...this week I am playing hostess and am staying in my crafty comfort zone, wanting to see all those 'Pretty Pastels' - so ditch the dark, ban the brights and settle into a more muted palette. You can make any type of creation, or any theme (even that holiday that happens at the end of the year?!) but just remember to be in with a chance of winning this week's prize, you MUST use your marker pens (of any medium) somewhere on your project and keep your colour palette pastel!

We're being sponsored by Di's Digistamps who are offering one lucky winner a $6.00 voucher to their online store...

I created my card for a friend's daughter who turned 21 this weekend and had to colour her hair to match...

This is an old KennyK image that I teamed up with a pretty aqua, apricot and lemon colour scheme, raiding my scrap drawers for papers. I used the birthday die from Yana Smakula Layered Script sentiments, which is fast becoming one of my all time favourite die sets and a large number die, coloured in an ombre effect using Soft Peach, Watermelon and Coral Promarkers. I glittered the numbers and added some die cut stars and gems but kept the card itself pretty CAS.

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to visiting all of your blogs to see your wonderful creations!
