Passion for Markers - Colours of Autumn...

Hello there, crafty friends, from a wet and windy North Wales! We have a new challenge starting over at Passion for Markers this week, with the lovely Julie choosing a topical theme of 'Colours of Autumn'...

We're being sponsored by the wonderful Rachel Ann Miller Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 2 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to get to choose an image from Rachel's new Halloween release and I picked out the super cute 'Ghost Greetings'...

I thought that the image would be perfect for a shaker card, so went with it and cut out the banner for the shaker element. This image was so quick and easy to colour, just using Pebble Blue Promarker and a blender pen for the ghosts, which were decoupaged on top. I used a random orange and green pen that was on my desk to colour the sentiment and added a touch of blush to the ghosts using Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide on a cotton bud...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations...

Lisa

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out 'Sleeping Holiday Fred Gnome'...

I coloured Fred with my Pro/Flex Markers and here's the colour list I used -

Beard and fur - Pebble Blue, Storm Grey

Hat and top - Pear Green, Moss, Olive Green, Denim Blue, Celestial Blue, Cadet Blue

Holly - Grass, Forest Green, Holly

Bow - Red, Poppy, Crimson, Burgundy

Bells/baubles - Champagne, Sandstone, Cappuccino

I kept my card clean and simple, just adding a touch of glitter, gems and die cut snowflakes. I inked the background with Broken China Distress Oxide and the edges with black, adding a strip of polka dot paper to ground the image...

I hope you can play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your fabulous festive makes!

Passion for Markers - Embellish it!...

Good morning, dear crafty friends! We have a brand new challenge starting today over at Passion for Markers with the lovely Marlene picking a super easy theme of 'Embellish it!'...whether it be flowers, gems, ribbons or buttons, we would like you to add embellishments to your card...

We are being sponsored by the wonderful Conie Fong Art who is offering one lucky winner a choice of 3 digital images from her online store (and there are lots of lovely ones to chosse from!)...

We were lucky enough to be able to choose an image to play with and I picked out the super cute 'Sending Hugs Koala'...isn't he adorable?!...

I decided to make an easel card (having not made one for ages!) I coloured up the sweet Koala bear with my alcohol markers and here's the colour list I used :

Bear - Cool Grey 2, 4 & 5, (SN) Brown Grey 5, Champagne, Putty, Tan
Inside ears - Baby Pink, Cocktail Pink
Tree trunk - (SN) Mocha, Umber, Coffee Bean
Leaves and flowers - Lime Green, Grass, Forest Green, Lemon, Gold

I mat the image onto green paper and added some washi tape, jute ribbon, gems and die cut clouds, plus a touch of glitter on the flower heads...

I used an orange gingham for the bottom half of the card, again mat onto green and used the woodgrain washi tape to cover the join. I added a sentiment from Altenew Beautiful Day and decorated with some die cut leaves that I coloured in the same as the image, before adding veins with a fineline pen and running the chisel end of a black marker along the edges. I also added some tiny die cut flowers with gem centres...

I hope you can join us this week over at Passion for Markers and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations...

Passion for Markers - Dies and/or Punches...

Good morning, crafty friends! Another Tuesday races around with a brand new challenge starting over at Passion for Markers! The lovely Marie is in the hostess chair with a super simple theme of 'Dies and/or Punches'...I think for many of us these days, it is rare to make a card without using a die or punch of some description, even if it is just mats and layers or a sentiment...

We are being sponsored by Sheepski Designs who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 3 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out 'Twiggy'...

I printed Twiggy out onto a panel to fit a DL card, with a themed sentiment and coloured him up with my Pro/Flexmarkers (although I seem to have mislaid my colour list!) I used a Spellbinders curved border to add to the top of the panel and added some gold twine before matting onto a rich, red cardstock...

I added some die cut leaves and acorn, then embellished with some glitter and brown gems...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our easy challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations...

Passion for Markers - Summer in Full Bloom...

Hi there, Blogger buddies! It's time for another brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers with the lovely Lorraine in the hostess chair giving us a simple theme of 'Summer in Bloom'...as the title suggests, Lorraine would like you to use floral elements on your creation...

We're being sponsored by the talented Alex Syberia who is offering one lucky winner a £10 voucher to spend (on digital products) in her online store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out 'Full Bloom'...

I decided to go with a bolder colour palette than usual (mainly because the colours where on my desk at the time, not because I am an organised crafter and was matching it to papers in my stash...oh, no?!), using the following colour list :

Lemon, Gold, Pumpkin, Bright Orange, Sunset
Baby Pink, Cerise, Shocking Pink, Vermilion
Primrose, Lemon, Tulip Yellow
Blue Pearl, China Blue
Grass, Forest Green, Holly

I really like dark card bases at the moment, so mat a watercolour pink paper onto a navy pearl card base. I used the chisel end of my Blue Pearl marker to create the mat behind the white panel and added my bouquet, fussy cut leaving a white border, using foam pads. I added a couple of die cut flags in green gingham and my favourite Spellbinders Yana Smakula Sketched Sentiments die with a simple stamped and embossed wishes...I finished off with a few gems and a touch of gold glitter on the stamens...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our pretty challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations!

Passion for Markers - Go Wild!...

Good morning, crafty friends! I am playing hostess over at Passion for Markers this week, with our brand new challenge starting today and for the theme, I have chosen 'Go Wild!'... you can interpret this however you like, whether it be wild animals, animals that live in the wild, wild flowers or just wild patterns and colour! So, from hedgehogs to hippos or bluebells to bananas, if it lives or grows in the wild (either in the UK or anywhere else in the world) then I would like to see it on your creations!...

We're being sponsored by Polkadoodles who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 3 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to pick an image to play with and I chose the super sweet 'Earlie Hedgehog Balloon'...

Although not the wildest of animals, hedgehogs are a native animal that lives in the wild here in the UK...plus they're pretty cute, especially when they have stripey socks and a balloon!?!...

I coloured this sweet FuzzyPuff with my alcohol markers and here's the colour list I used :

Body - Primrose, Vanilla, (SN) Mocha, (SN) Umber, (SN) Coffee Bean,
Muzzle and inner ears - Putty, Tan, Baby Pink, Cocktail Pink
Stripes and Bow - Cool Aqua, Duck Egg, Surf Blue,
Balloon - Ruby, Amaranth Red, Burgundy

I raided my scrap drawers for some papers (but it still doesn't seem to make a dent in them?!) and mat the image onto a die cut scalloped rectangle. I cut some balloons from glitter and pearlised card, adding strings and a gold die cut sentiment. I stamped the second part of the sentiment and attached over the 'y' of happy, then finished with some gems, pearls and a touch of glitter...

I hope you can find the time to 'go wild' and join in with my fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations...

Passion for Markers - Holidays...

Good morning, crafty friends! It's a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers with the lovely Julie choosing a topical theme of 'Holidays'...these can be any type of holiday, including that event that happens in December?!...or something you might do whilst on holiday, maybe scuba diving or mountain climbing! (Doesn't sound like a holiday to me?! Ha, ha!)...

We're being sponsored by LeAnn's World who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 2 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to be able to choose an image to play with and I picked out 'Travelling Tricia' and made a suitcase shaped card...

I used a new pocket die that I HAD to purchase after seeing a cute card by Dee Lamb over in the Tracey Hey and Pals Facebook group, colouring Tricia up with my alcohol markers and just using the main image and suitcase from the design...

Skin - Dusky Pink, Sunkissed Pink, Coral
Hair - Pastel Yellow, Mocha (SN), Cappuccino
Top - Cool Aqua, Duck Egg, Surf Blue, Petrol Blue
Jeans - Blue Pearl, Chine Blue
Bag - Champagne, Sandstone, Cerise, Shocking Pink, Vermillion
Suitcase - Pebble Blue, Storm Cloud, Cool Grey 5, Cerise, Shocking Pink, Vermillion, Cool Aqua, Duck Egg

The card base itself is just a rounded rectangle with added elements for the wheels and handle, plus there's a pocket on the back to add a gift card or maybe some holiday money??

I hope you can join in with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing how you interpret the theme...
