Hi, everyone! Thought I'd post this pic of a card I made using a digistamp created from a photograph of my youngest, Josh (he looks a bit older now!) I love the way it turned out and the play on words is fun, too! I used Dovecraft Masculine 6 x 6 papers and coloured my image in PS - a bit of glitter accents the shell, though I'm toying with the idea of glazing it with Glossy Accents, it's just a large area not to get bubbles in!?!
As I write this, I am penned into the corner of my craft room, by the computer, as me and DH are in the middle of constructing kitchen cupboards that I bought yesterday to make my work area a bit...no, a lot...tidier! I am sick of looking at a mish mash of shelves and boxes, so I'm hoping this way everything will be hidden away when I don't need it - I'll still be one of the messiest workers, that'll never change, but in between times, maybe there will be tidiness?!! I'll let you know how I get on!! : )

First of the year!
Hi there, everyone! Well, I have actually made my first cards of the year! I have been struggling to get back in to things - I think because I had so many cards that I had to make before the holidays, that card making had become a chore, so these two are just for fun...
The first card I made, uses the Tilda with Sunflower stamp, coloured using my chalks, patterned papers from my stash (they were part of a pack -I think they are My Mind's Eye, Bloom & Grow), paper flowers from Crafts4U and some vintage lace that Mam kindly got me on her latest trip to Abakhan. I inked all the edges of the papers and around the oval with Walnut Stain DI and accented with Glamour Dust...
...the end result was quite vintage, I thought? I would love to receive it, so I suppose that must mean I'm happy with it!!
The second card I made using one of the clipart images from Arthur's Free Clipart, coloured with PS - I used the image before on 16th May 2010 post, but made it very fresh this time by using pastel patterned papers which have been in my stash for ages (they were individual sheets that I bought from my local craft shop). The flowers were from Crafts4U again and the pearly bits I found in the back of my embellishments drawer...
...it ended up quite girly, who'd have thought it from me?!! And as I said before, I think the expression on the little girl's face sums the sentiment up to a tee!
Hope you like them as much as I do, I thoroughly enjoyed making them, so maybe I'm finally getting back into the swing of things! Happy crafting!

Happy New Year!
Hi guys!
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year - a Happy New Decade, even!! 2011 has arrived at a hare's pace, it doesn't seem that long ago that we were celebrating a new millenium!!
Well, I'm still having issues with getting back into cardmaking at the minute, between shopping, visiting and just enjoying the festivities, crafting has been put on the shelf for a week and I'm just enjoying the holidays! I did get to finish my brother's present (I don't know if you'll make it out from the photo, I should've staged it better, but hey-ho!)
I made a patchwork bed runner and cushions and a magnetic calendar, so it works no matter what the year...as he pointed out, the only thing is that he'll have to keep it updated, or he might still think it's three weeks last Tuesday!!
I got the most wonderful handmade bag from my SIL, I'd put an 'x' next to the one that I liked in the pattern book she got for Xmas last year - cheeky, I know - but it worked and I now have a lovely new handbag to show for it...and you can never have too many of those!
The boys are back in school next week, so I'm hoping to get back to some sort of order, once all the decorations are away and the presents have found places to live! Our waning house is now bursting at the seams, we could do with an extension...scrap that, we just need a bigger house - or less stuff?!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I'll hopefully have more to show you in the next couple of weeks...best wishes for 2011!
