Passion for Promarkers - Happy Birthday...

Good evening, my lovelies! My, are these days whizzing by fast?! We have a brand new challenge starting today, over at Passion for Promarkers…
It's the lovely Shelly in the hostess chair giving us a very easy theme of 'Happy Birthday', so it doesn't matter what you create, as long as you include a Birthday sentiment and use your Letraset/Winsor & Newton mediums, you'll be in with a chance of winning a fabulous stamp set from Uniko (must be in stock)…

I decided to go with a more masculine theme for this week's card and coloured up the balloon digistamps from Another Play on Words. The papers are a mix of different pads from in my stash and the sentiment was created in Photoshop. I kept the layout quite clean and simple and didn't even add glitter or pearls...shock, horror!
I hope you get the chance to join in with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing what you all create...
Hugs,

Passion for Promarkers - Weather...

Good morning, crafty buddies and a happy Tuesday to you all! Who would have thought that Julie's challenge theme this week, over at Passion for Promarkers, would be so topical?!
The weather...
Here in Blighty we love to talk about the weather - I think because it is so changeable and it is possible to get all 4 seasons in one day! Who'd have thought that such a tiny little island could get rain, sleet, snow, gales and sunshine all in the space of 24 hours and even then, it 's probably not happening a mile down the road?!…
So whilst we make the most of the sunshine here in the UK (and I know it's not everyone's cup of tea!), why not get out your pens and play along with our weather themed challenge? Now it doesn't just have to be sunshine and Summer time makes, you could always go with a wintery theme to cool you down...or even that thing we don't talk about until December?!…
We are being sponsored by Di's Digi Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a $12 voucher to their online store...
For my card, I made a little collage with some of the Weather digi stamps from Another Play on Words...I have to say, I wasn't too pleased with my colouring on this one, but I suppose we all have 'off' days?! (Plus I didn't have time to start all over again?!) My lovely teamie Elaine said that it looked like the weather forecast for Scotland in one day...ha, ha!...so true!
Well, enjoy the weather, whatever it throws at you and I hope you can find the time to join in with our fun challenge this week!
I'm off to have my hair chopped off - I keep swaying whether to go short or chicken out and just get a trim...we'll see how brave I am?!
Have a terrific Tuesday! Crafty hugs,

Twist and pop cards...

Good evening, crafty friends! I've been meaning to post these fab cards that the lovely Linda (one of the girls from our workshop) made using the twist and pop card template from my Etsy store...
Instead of using the butterfly or grapevine design elements that come with the card template, she mixed it up and used some of the images from my CDs...
For the first one, she used the BBQ toppers and papers from A Play on Words...

And the second used the travel images from Another Play on Words and the Globe from A Play on Words...
I love the way they turned out and it's so nice to see what someone else does with my designs! Thank you Linda for sharing your fab creations and allowing me to share them with my crafty friends!

Workshop cards - February 4th...

Good morning, dear Blogger buddies! I have actually remembered to take photographs of the cards we made in workshop on Saturday and so am here to share them with you!...
The first card was inspired by Ewa's card HERE and uses a pretty Marianne butterfly die cut in black and backed with an inked layer, using Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks.  The papers are from Animal Antics CD-Rom - the Cat polka dot and Horse corrugated papers.
The girls really loved this card and despite everyone's butterfly being different shades, they all turned out beautifully!...
Second up was a card using the Hot Air Balloon from Another Play on Words CD-Rom.  It uses a variety of papers from the CD and the JPEG balloons, printed at 9 to a page for the larger and 35 to a page contact sheet for the smaller one...
I really liked this layout and am currently using it to make an upcoming DT card, though I'm sure it will look very different to this one!
I have been so busy drawing and creating for workshops, plus trying to fit in working on the campervan, that crafty time is at a premium at the minute!  I also need to learn to photograph cards before I send them out, as they either get delivered or sent in the post and then I think of taking pictures!
Hope you can find time for some crafting and have a magnificent Monday - I have kid's club later...oh, joy!
Hugs,

Passion for Promarkers - Weather...

Good morning, everyone!  Hope you all had a fabulous Easter weekend, whatever you were doing!  We made the most of the Spring sunshine on Friday by visiting Erddig house near Wrexham, before having tea at the Alyn pub in Gresford and finishing the evening watching Superman Vs Batman.  A bit of shopping and ten pin bowling with the little man on Saturday, then a chilled out Sunday and Monday, mainly controlled by the fact that the weather was a bit of a washout!
Speaking of weather, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Passion for Promarkers and the lovely Julie has chosen the theme of 'Weather'...very apt for this time of year!  We're being sponsored by Little Claire Designs who are offering one lucky winner 4 digis from their online store...
http://www.mylcdesigns.co.uk/

...So why not get out your Letraset pens and join in with our topical challenge this week?...
...I was TOTALLY inspired by this card made by the ever so talented Christine - one of my latest blog loves! Her cards are totally my style, I love her use of bright colours and her colouring is AMAZING!...
...I used the umbrella digistamp and sentiment from Another Play on Words, coloured with my Pro/Flexmarkers - I don't know if anyone else is finding the same, but a lot of my Flexmarkers are starting to dry up, despite being a lot newer than some of my old faithful bullet nib pens - hence the rather dodgy shading on the green panel.  I had to add a couple of extra clouds in the mix...just because I love a cloud...and some little diamantes as raindrops.  I added the white dots to the umbrella with a white gel pen, before promptly wiping them all off as I stuck the layers to the card and had to redo them!!  I have to admit I'm not sure about the navy blue layer and wonder whether I should've gone for a paler blue, but hey ho...it is what it is!
Thanks for the inspiration Christine and I'm sure I shall be using this pretty Lawn Fawn Fluffy Cloud border die a lot more in the future...I mean, check out this other card that Christine did in the same style...adorable!  Do I feel a batch make coming on?! :)
Well, that's it from me today - I hope you can find the time to join in with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all your wonderful creations.  Don't forget to check out what my talented teamies have been creating for your inspiration, by clicking on their names above their corresponding card photos over on the Passion for Promarkers blog.
Have a terrific Tuesday and enjoy the rest of the week!
Hugs,
Lisa x

Passion for Promarkers - doodling...

Morning, everyone!  It's a quick post from me this morning as I'm off to get my hair chopped!  It's Tuesday, so the start of another fab challenge over at Passion for Promarkers! yay!  This week it's the lovely Anna in the hostess chair and she has chosen the theme 'Doodling', so whether it's zentangle, faux stitching or a hand written sentiment (in which case, RESPECT!) as long as there's some doodling on your card, then it will qualify to be in the draw to win a fabby prize. Speaking of which, this week we are being sponsored by Polkadoodles who are offering 2 digi images (Serenity - butterfly kisses and stardust) to the lucky winner...
So I went with another fab layout that I saw over at Deconstructing Jen (will find the link later) and used the nail polish digistamp and sentiment from Another play on Words.  The papers are from the Makeup and baby set and I doodled using my fine liner black pen...
...I added some sprinkles to decorate (LOVE these at the moment!) and finished the inside with a writing panel (with doodled border) and another polka dot heart.
Well, that's going to have to be it for now - short and sweet, as I have to dash! Hope you can find the time to join in with our challenge this week and I look forward to seeing what you all make! Don't forget to hop on over to the Passion for Promarkers blog to see what fabulous inspiration my talented teamies have created and good luck in the draw!

Orange flowers...

Good morning, Blogland!  Hope you're all having a fabulous week and enjoying the Autumnal sunshine here in the UK?!  Isn't it lovely to still be able to hang the washing out and grab five minutes sitting outside with a cuppa? Here's hoping it lasts a bit longer!...
So, yesterday, I mentioned a favourite blog of mine - Deconstructing Jen.  I have to say, this is probably my most visited blog EVER!  I just love her clean, modern style and never fail to find inspiration in her layouts and cards - whether it be a colour combo, design layout or image style, she ALWAYS kick starts my creativity! So if you have a few minutes to spare and want to see some really lovely cards, why not hop on over to her blog for a look and see for yourself?
For today's card I was inspired by one that Jen made back in April for the Deconstructed Sketch Challenge.  When I saw this card, I instantly knew I wanted to create something similar using the plant pot from Another Play on Words...
I loved the orange colour tones and they are also rather apt for this time of the year, so coloured the digistamp image with my Pro/Flexmarkers...
...The layout is so simple that the image becomes the focal point of the card with just a few added touches in the string bow, pearls and touch of glitter.  I did add Glossy Accents to the large flowers to keep their vibrancy of colour, though the shine doesn't show up very well in the photo...(my wonderful photography skills as usual!).  I kept the inside quite simple with a plain writing panel and added a couple of leaves and petterned paper strip.
Well, that's it from me!  I hope you've enjoyed seeing my little creation and sharing one of my favourite blogs...Where do you find your inspiration?
Have a wonderful Wednesday, whatever you're doing!

Vive la Verve - September Week 1 sketch...

Good evening, dear blogging buddies!  How about this?! Don't see me for a fortnight, then twice in one day! I decided to try and shake off my lack of motivation by sitting at my crafty table for a couple of hours...I shuffled a bit of paper around for a bit, then had a nosey around on the web before (as usual) ending up at one of my all time favourite blogs - Deconstructing Jen (more about her in my next post...yes, there's more to come!) From here, I hopped over to the Vive la Verve Sketch Challenge - now I LOVE a good sketch and this blog is just full of fabulous inspiration!  I fell in love with Marisa's pretty aqua and pink card with super sweet birdie paper and decided to join in with September's sketch challenge, week 1...
...I decided to use the Weather plaid paper (one of my faves at the moment - I'm lovin' the yellow!), Make a Splash sentiment and rainbow and cloud embellishments from Another Play on Words...
...The embossing folder is Cuttlebug's Divine Swirls and I used the Blue swirl paper from the Travel set of Another Play on Words and a bit of aqua polka dot from the Sewing set of A Play on Words which happened to be on my table.  I finished the inside of my card with a printed insert and added another rainbow and cloud to coordinate.
Hope you like my creation and I'll be back tomorrow with another share! Wow!
A little bit crafty hugs,
Lisa x

Passion for Promarkers - Transport...

Good morning, my lovelies! It's Tuesday, which means there's a new challenge over at Passion for Promarkers!  This week it's the lovely Marie in the hostess chair and she's chosen a nice, easy theme of 'Travel/Transport' - so any project with some form of transport on it will fit the bill (as long as you use your Letraset mediums!)  We are being sponsored by Letraset who are offering one lucky winner a set of 12 Promarker pens (Set 1) - you can never have too many!
I decided to use the plane digistamp from Another Play on Words and made a DL card - I know, not a square!?!  I coloured the image with my Pro/Flexmarkers and used the Travel Swirl and Tech Star papers.  I embellishend with a couple of clouds from the embellishment set and a Travel sentiment.  I finished with some doodling as I felt the card just needed 'something', though I'm not quite sure now as it got a little wonky!  Note to self - if you're going to do doodling, do it before assembling the whole card!

Hope you get the chance to join in with our challenge this week and I look forward to visiting and seeing your fabulous creations! Hop on over to the Passion for Promarkers blog where you can see what my talented teamies have been up to for your inspiration!

Look Mum, clouds!...

Good afternoon, lovely peeps from a sunny, but showery North Wales!  I saw this card over on Pinterest and thought that I could make a variation using some of the embellishments from Another Play on Words.  As my Mum knows, I have a bit of a fetish for clouds at the moment - I don't know what it is, but I love to put them on cards! So here's my take on that pretty bunting card...
I have to say I am rather pleased with how it turned out and it's definitely 'my style'!  The clouds and bunting were both from the embellishment sheets and the rainbow coloured sentiment is from the Weather sentiments.
I know I am a bit of a tease showing you all these samples, but a) I can't help myself when I get an idea and b) just think of the inspiration that you'll have once the disc is available! Not long now!
Have a fabulous Wednesday, whatever the weather!
Hugs,

...This first card uses the gaming image and sentiment and a mixture of papers.  I had to add a strategically placed star to cover up a blob of glue that was determined it wasn't going to rub offf without leaving behind a lovely grey mark - but you would never know if I hadn't told you!?!...

Last two sample galleries...

Good evening, dear Blogger friends!  So here are the last two sample galleries from my upcoming disc 'Another Play on Words'....
...The first is the Technology design set...
...and last but not least, the House design set...
Production is going well and I can't believe that it's only a week until Sincerely Yours Papercrafts @ Leigh Show!!...
I'm looking forward to seeing lots of familiar faces and hopefully some new ones too, though I'm starting to get a little nervous (as I always do just before a new disc launches)!  I just hope that you all like it and that everything goes smoothly!
I'm hoping to get a few more new samples done this week, as it would be nice to have a play...just for me, but it's a busy time preparing my youngest for high school - managed to get the rest of his uniform and bag, etc today and he's got English homework to do and we've had birthdays, anniversaries and time away too!  The housework had been put on hold but I think I'm going to have to set aside a day to try and get things back to some sort of normality and I don't know when I'm going to get time to do my garden!?!...oh well, off to wash the dishes...or maybe I'll sit at my extremely messy craft table for an hour!
Hugs,

I'm back...

Good evening, dear Blogger buddies!  I'm back from a lovely long weekend spent with hubby and my little man staying in Ludlow. (My big man has been in Aberystwyth)  Despite a bit of a grim Friday morning, weather ways, we got to visit Leominster and Hereford in the afternoon and then the weekend arrived with beautiful warm, sunshine!  We visited Ludlow Castle and town ( a really pretty market town with lots of narrow streets and the food market was on so we got to sample and buy some scrummy products) then afterwards we made our way to Croft Castle - a beautiful castle which is still lived in and part open to the public.  The castle itself had a lovely homely feel and the grounds were just stunning, finished off by a go on the rope swings in the forest adventure playground!  On Sunday we went to Ironbridge and visited Blists Hill Victorian Town - we never got round the whole town but bought ourselves an annual pass, so can always go again to finish it off!  Dinner on the way home and then a good night's sleep back in my own bed...it all passed so quickly and it's back to normality now!
Production has begun for my new disc, so all will be ready for Sincerely Yours Papercraft@Leigh Show on the 30th August...just a fortnight away!! So here's a few more sample galleries to whet your appetite!...
This one is the Travel design set and features hot air balloons, an aeroplane and camera...
...This set is the Weather set with bright papers, umbrellas, wellies and rainbows!
Hope you like them!  I have 4 wedding cards to make this week, all for the same couple, so I need to get my thinking cap on!  Hope to be back soon with some more craftiness...
Hugs,

A first sneak peek....

Good evening, dear Blogger friends!  I know my blog has been rather sparse for the last month, but I am almost at the end of my next disc, 'Another Play on Words'...

It is getting hard to stay focussed, (to be honest, it's getting to the point where I am carded out and my house looks like it's been hit by an atomic bomb!) but I only have 3 sample cards to make and then it's on to testing and then...production!
So I'm here to share the first design set gallery which is a baby set...
...There's a predesigned card, CAS card, decoupage toppers, flat toppers, blank toppers, images, backing papers, sentiments, inserts, digistamps, embellishments and some 3D projects too...I have to stop adding things or it'll never be finished!  Hope you like my little sneak peek and I'll be back with more over the next few days.  I'll be launching at Leigh Show on Sunday 30th August and then they'll be available to buy on my blog the following week.
Thanks for putting up with my absence and I hope to be able to do some more visiting once all the samples are completed, plus a couple of well earned days off with hubby and my boys.
Take care,
Lisa x
