Passion for Markers - Christmas...

This week's challenge over at Passion for Markers has been set by the lovely Marie who would like to see all of your Christmas makes...so whether it's reindeer or snowmen, Santa or robins, we would like to see your festive creations!

We're being sponsored by Polkadoodles who are offering one lucky winner 3 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out the super cute 'Santa Merry Christmas Banner'...

I kept my card CAS, just adding some layers and a few gold die cut snowflakes -mainly because my Mojo is still non existent and crafting seems to be a real chore of late :(

I hope that you can find the time to play along with our festive challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations,

Passion for Markers - Anything but Square...

Hello there, crafty friends! It's time for a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers and this week it's my turn to host, so I've chosen a simple theme of 'Anything but Square'...you can make anything you like, just as long as it's not square...oh, and don't forget to use your markers (alcohol or water based)..

We're being sponsored by Lili of the Valley who are kindly offering one lucky winner a choice of 4 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out the pretty 'Balloon and Gift'...

I coloured the image with my Pro/Flexmarkers and paper pieced the balloon with some polka dot paper before fussy cutting, leaving a white border. I used papers from some scrapbook pads that I picked up in The Works and an embossed flag panel to make the base layers, then added my image, die cut clouds and sentiment from Crafter's Companion. I finished with some pale green gems and a touch of glitter on the flowers...

I hope you can find the time to play along with my fun challenge this week and look forward to visiting all of your blogs...

Passion for Markers - For a Child...

This week's challenge over at Passion for Markers has been set by the lovely Sarah who would like to see all of your creations made 'For a Child'...

We're being sponsored by All Dressed Up Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 2 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out the super cute "Puddle Ducks"...

I coloured the sweet image with my Pro/Flexmarkers -

Skin - Blush, Dusky Pink, Sunkissed Pink
Hair - Pastel Yellow, Sandstone, Cappuccino
Coat & Ducks - Canary, Yellow, Gold & Honeycomb (for the beaks and feet)
Wellies - Red, Berry, Burgundy
Trousers - Denim, Cloud, Cadet Blue
Water - Cool Aqua, Duck Egg, Surf Blue
Shadows - Pebble Blue, Blender

I created an acetate front card with a cloud shaped border die and added the image which had been fussy cut with a white border. I added some die cut clouds and a computer generated sentiment, ensuring that I also attached a reverse on the inside to cover up the adhesive showing through. I finished with some crystal gems as water droplets and some red gems to tie in the colours...

I hope you can find the time to join in with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations...

Passion for Markers - Christmas

Good morning, crafty buddies! Well, there's a definite shift to Autumn this week here in North Wales and the nights are drawing in pretty quickly too! I am not a Winter person and don't relish the thought of six months of shorter days and colder temperatures, but at least it means that I can light the fire and curl up indoors with a good cup of tea!...

It's time for a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers and this week the lovely Sue has chosen that thing that happens in December...'Christmas', so we'd like to see all of your festive creations...it doesn’t have to be a card but whatever you make please remember you must include a hand coloured image to be eligible for our prize draw...

We're being sponsored by the fabulous Dies to Die For who are offering one lucky winner a £15 voucher to their online store...fabulous, right?!...

For my DT card, I picked an image from a site that I recently discovered called craftycicijoy.com...

I printed the image multiple times so that I could decoupage it and coloured with my Pro/Flexmarkers, decorating with tiny gems and peel off waste. I used peel off borders to create the chains and a die cut Christmas sentiment and snowflakes...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our festive challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations...

Passion for Markers - Hip to be Square...

Good morning, crafty friends! We're almost at the end of August...how did that happen?!...and who stole Summer?! There has been a definite shift to a more Autumnal feel here in North Wales, but hubby predicted at the beginning of the season that Summer would be two weeks in September, so I'm still hopeful!

Another Tuesday appears, which means it's time for our brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers. The lovely Marlene is in the hostess chair with a simple theme of 'Hip to be Square', so we don't mind the project, as long as it's square and you've used your markers (alcohol or water based) to colour an image...

We're being sponsored by Rachel Anne Miller Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a £10 voucher to spend in her online store...how cool is that?

We were lucky enough to get an image from Rachel's current new release called 'Candy Shop' to play with and I used the fun gumball machine image...

I must admit that I wasn't overly keen on this finished card, but knew I wanted to create a shaker element for the glass bowl of the gumball machine and used punched waste, coloured with my markers and diamond art gems for the shaker bits.

Colour List -

Reds - Sunset, Red, Berry Red, Burgundy
Greys - Cool Grey 2, 4 & 5
Yellow - Lemon, Tulip Yellow, Gold
Pink - Baby Pink, Cerise, Shocking Pink
Green - Lime Zest, Lime, Bright Green
Blue - Pastel Blue, Sky Blue

I am trying to make use of the many paper scraps that I have accumulated and thought that this paper was perfect for the gumballs (almost a typo there - not good when your gumballs start with 'B'!?!)  I also have a box (or two) with left over die cuts from workshops and other projects, hence the fishtail flags...I still can't seem to shake my lack of motivation to craft, well to do anything really and it's only my DT work that forces me to go up into my craft room, so if anyone finds a touch of Mojo somewhere, can they send some my way, please?!...

I do hope that you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations...

Passion for Markers - Add a sentiment...

Good morning, dear Blogger buddies! It seems that the short spell of hot weather has been broken by rain here in North Wales, although I will be glad of a fresher feel as it's been terribly humid here for the last few days...

It's Tuesday, which means the start of a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers. The lovely Marie who has chosen a super simple theme of 'Add a sentiment'...we don't mind what type of creation you make, just as long as you use your markers and follow the challenge theme...

We're being sponsored by Colour of Love who are offering one lucky winner 3 digital images from their online store...

I picked out an image that I have previously used from Colour of Love called Maiara Indian Maiden...

I have to say that I really enjoyed colouring this pretty image up (although I notice that my colouring is not what it used to be with having to wear glasses now?!) and here's the colour list I used :

Skin - Tan, Cinnamon, Caramel
Hair - Walnut, Henna, Umber
Eyes - Pear Green, Moss
Feathers and shawl - Gold, Honeycomb, Spice
Cool Aqua, Duck Egg, Surf Blue
Soft Peach, Tea Rose, Rose Peach

I fussy cut her out leaving a white border and mounted her with foam pads. I used a rectangle and cloud border stencil to create the background with Wild Honey and Broken China Distress Oxides, but inevitably, it went a little green around the edges?! Oh, well...

The clouds and stars were from my ever increasing bit box and the sentiment is a new one from Crafter's Companion - they were having a 10 for £10 sale, so who could resist?!

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations...

Passion for Markers - Animal Magic...

Good morning, crafty friends! I hope that you are enjoying the sunshine, if you have it? It seems a very long time coming here in North Wales!...

It's time for a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers and this week, the lovely Lorraine has chosen a theme of 'Animal Magic'...so we would like to see any type of animal on your creations (including birds)...

We are being sponsored by Hetty Clare who is offering one lucky winner a choice of 2 digital images from her only store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I went with the fun 'Pony'...

I decided to create a wobbler card, so split the image into the horse and fence components and cut out the pony with rider, leaving a white border. I added a card spring on the back of the pony so that it wobbles on the front of the card and in my mind (which is a dangerous place to be?!) looked like the horse was jumping over the fence...

I coloured the image with my Pro/Flexmarkers and used the colours of my friend's daughter's pony, as this was a birthday card for her...but have you ever tried colouring a white pony??...no colour list today, sadly, as it was a case of grab and go...

I hope you an find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and if anyone can find any crafty motivation, could they send it my way please? I am struggling to even want to open the door to my craft room at the minute, so if Mr Mojo makes an appearance in your vicinity, can you remind him where I live?! Thanks!

Passion for Markers - Pretty Pastels...

Good morning, dear crafty friends! It's time for a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers and this week it's my turn to host....

I have decided to stay in my comfort zone and chosen a simple theme of 'Pretty Pastels', so banish the brights and ditch the darks, I want to see those pretty ice cream colour tones and more gentle colour palettes on your creations this week...

We are being sponsored by Di's Digi Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a £6.00 voucher to their online store...

For my DT card, I picked out an old Time 4 Tea Designs image which I got as a freebie when they were retiring a bunch of old images called 'Happy Cat Mom Day Bonnie'...

I coloured her up with my Pro/Flexmarkers, but sadly don't have a colour list to share today as there were just so many colours I used with all the different cats!

I found some coordinating papers in my scrap drawers (I do try to use them as often as I can but 3 pieces doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of using them up!) and went with a simple layered layout on a dusky pink 5"x7" card base. I added a white strip to lift the image from the patterns and stamped a simple sentiment (thank goodness for stamp platforms!) I finished off with a few crystal star gems and added the butterflies from the image separately...

I hope you can find the time to play along with my challenge this week and look forward to visiting all of your blogs and seeing your wonderful creations...

Passion for Markers - Add a sentiment...

Our brand new challenge has started today over at Passion for Markers with the lovely Marlene choosing a super simple theme of 'Add a sentiment'...we don't mind what kind of project you create, just as long as you use your markers to colour and add a sentiment...

We're being sponsored by Polkadoodles who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 3 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out the ever so sweet 'Balloon Days' Winnie...

I coloured Winnie with my Pro/Flexmarkers -

Skin - Blush, Dusky Pink, Sunkissed Pink
Hair - Champagne, Sandstone, Cappuccino
Balloon and bow - Lemon, Canary, Sunflower
Dress - Lilac, Orchid, Amethyst
Shoes and hearts - Cerise, Shocking Pink
Shadows - Pebble Blue, Umber

I used scraps from my stash to create the layout on a 6x6 scalloped card base and stamped the 'Birthday to you' sentiment on the pink arrow. I added a pretty embossed lace frame and my favourite Yana Smakula die cut 'Happy' sentiment in gold glitter cardstock. I decoupaged the balloon for a bit of dimension and finished with a few gems and gold pearls...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to visiting your blogs...

Passion for Markers - Let it Bloom...

Good morning, dear Blogger buddies! I hope that you all enjoyed the spell of warm weather that we got, here in the UK, but it seems to be back to normal service now with sunshine and showers...

It's time for a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers and the lovely Marie has chosen a super simple theme of 'Let it Bloom', so we would like to see flowers on your creations - this could be floral images, papers or embellishments...

We are being sponsored by Hetty Clare who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 2 digital images from their online store...and there are some beauties! Just remember that to be in with a chance of winning the prize, you must use your markers, alcohol or water based on your creation...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out the ever so pretty 'Flower Bouquet Girl'...

I coloured her up with my Pro/Flexmarkers and fussy cut her out leaving a white border...

Skin - Blush, Sunkissed Pink, Coral
Hair - Sandstone, Cappuccino, Umber
Bow & Tights - Halloween, Bright Orange, Sunset
Trousers - Denim Blue, Cornflower, Cadet Blue
Flowers - Soft Peach, Rose Peach, Coral, Lemon, Yellow, Gold, Baby Pink, Cocktail Pink, Watermelon, Apple

I kept my card pretty clean and simple, as I very much feel that less is more these days and just picked out some paper from my scrap drawers in contrasting blue and orange colour tones. I do love a sprinkle at the moment, so added some gems and pearls at random and a touch of glitter to the bouquet...

I hope that you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations...

Passion for Markers - Easter...

Good morning, crafty buddies! The days are getting longer here in the UK, although it does feel as though they are moving a lot faster too! I can't quite believe that we are already a quarter of the way through the year, but it's nice to see the buds appearing on the trees, see the first Spring flowers and hearing the birds going about their nest building...

Today's challenge over at Passion for Markers has been set by the lovely Sue who would like to see all of your Easter creations, in anticipation of the celebration at the end of the month...

We are being sponsored by All Dressed Up Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 2 digital images from their online store...

The image that I  picked out is not particularly Easter themed, but I thought that this pretty 'Beret Girl' would make a wonderful Spring inspired card, with the right colour tones...

Colour List :

Skin - Bluch, Dusky Pink, Sunkissed Pink
Hair - Cinnamon, Auburn, Umber
Dress - Tulip Yellow, Sunflower, Gold, Pebble Blue, Black
Beret - Meadow Green, Apple, Forest Green, Cool Aqua, Duck Egg, Surf Blue

I gave her a die cut bouquet of flowers to hold and added some Easter eggs to depict the theme, keeping my design clean and simple, just using a pink plaid paper and my Spellbinders borders. I added some miniature butterflies (not strategically placed, of course?!) and finished with some flat back pearls...

I hope that you can find the time to play along with our topical challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your Easter makes...

Passion for Markers - Colours of Spring...

Hey there, crafty friends! Another Tuesday rolls around and it's time for a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers. The lovely Marlene is in the hostess chair with a seasonal theme of 'Colours of Spring'....

We're being sponsored by Polkadoodles who are offering one lucky winner 3 digital images from their online store...

I picked out an image that I had used previously called 'Scruff Gardening'....I love this little pooch watering the flowers...

Living in Wales, the epitome of Spring has to be the swaths of green and yellow daffodils that adorn the hedgerows, towns and villages - so this is where I took inspiration. I coloured Scruff with my alcohol markers -

Fur - Champagne, Sandstone, Cappuccino, Umber (SN)
Bandana - Tulip Yellow, Gold, Pumpkin
Watering Can - Apple, Forest Green

I picked out some papers from my stash and played around until I was happy with the layout, then added a couple of die cut clouds...firstly, because I don't need much encouragement to use clouds in my crafting and secondly, because I thought that they went with the outdoor theme of the image (see, there is method in the madness at times!?!) I decoupaged Scruff with two extra layers and gave him some rosy cheeks using Distress Ink on a cotton bud (the easiest way to create blush, I think). I stamped the birthday sentiment using my stamp platform and added the die cut sentiment using foam pads before finishing with some sequins and pearls...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our seasonal challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your Spring inspired makes...

Passion for Markers - Dies and/or Punches...

Good evening, crafty friends! I am a little late to the party with this week's challenge over at Passion for Markers - life is pretty hectic at the moment and I am trying to get my house sorted after emptying Mum's. It is definitely a case of cluttered house, cluttered mind and I have been busy building flat pack furniture and decorating to store the multitude of stuff that I brought home. I cannot even get into my craft room properly, so this card was created mainly on a board on my knee?!...

The lovely Marie is in the hostess chair this week and she always gives us a nice, easy theme - this week being 'Use Dies and/or Punches'...

We are being sponsored by Dr Digis House of Stamps who are offering one lucky winner 2 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out Bob's Balloons...

I just used a portion of the image and created a CAS card with some paper piecing and doodling. I coloured Bob with my Pro/Flexmarkers -

Skin - Blush, Dusky Pink, Rose Peach
Shirt - Pebble Blue, Blender
Jumper - Marine, Surf Blue, Blender
Hat - Wild Orchid, Purple, Red Violet
Balloon - Meadow Green, Apple, Forest Green

I added a strip of polka dot paper to the bottom third of the card and freehand drew some doodling around the white area before mounting Bob using foam pads for a bit of dimension, I also paper pieced his jumper with a striped paper. I die cut some balloons in a gold and blue glitter and drew the strings using a fine line pen. I used my favourite Yana Smakula Birthday sentiments die and stamped 'wishes' underneath, then finished with some sprinkles of gems and pearls...

I hope that you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week (and as for me, better late than never?!)...

Passion for Markers - Occasions other than Birthdays...

Good morning, crafty buddies! Gosh these Tuesdays are rolling around quickly! But you know what that means...yep, it's time for a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers...

The lovely Marlene is in the hostess chair with a super easy theme of 'Occasions other than Birthdays'... We're being sponsored by Dr Digi's House of Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 2 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out this fun Christmas Angel image...

I went with a super simple design, with an inked background in Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide and a die cut cloud for my fussy cut Angel to sit on. She was so easy to colour with a limited colour palette of Blush, Dusky Pink, Sunkissed Pink, Pastel Yellow, Champagne, Sandstone, Cappuccino, Cool Aqua, Duck Egg and Surf Blue. I added some glitter to the wings and a few tiny, gold die cut stars, then stamped a sentiment and wrapped some string around the panel with a small tied bow...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations...
