POP UP BOX CARD INSTRUCTIONS
Begin with an A4 piece of cardstock in a Landscape position
Measure and mark at 7, 14, 21 & 28cm at the top and bottom of the cardstock (If you have a mutliline Score board, you can use this to emboss vertical lines at these measurements)
Using an embossing tool and ruler, emboss vertical lines to connect the marks...
Place on a score board and emboss a horizontal line at A5 half fold or 10.5cm, but DO NOT score through the first left hand panel!
Cut down the vertical score lines to the point where they meet the horizontal one. Cut away the small panel at the top right and create a tab in the small bottom right panel...
...I like to make my box flaps slightly smaller, so cut away 1.5cm from the 3 scored panels (again, DO NOT cut the first panel!) and round the corners with a corner punch...
...Take 2 separate pieces of cardstock measuring 9 x 3.5cm and score a vertical line at 1cm in from both edges...
...Fold the right hand tab away from you and the left hand tab towards you to create a 'Z' shape...
...Place adhesive on the right hand tab of one of the separate pieces and adhere to the second panel from the left, approximately a third in from the left score line, ensuring that the top edge aligns with the central horizontal score line of the box...
...Place adhesive on the right hand tab of the second separate piece and again attach to the second panel, approxiamately 2 thirds from the left score line and ensuring that it aligns with the central horizontal score line.
Ensure that the right hand box tab and 2 left hand tabs of the separate strips are folded towards you and place adhesive on them. ENSURE THAT THE ADHESIVE IS ONLY ON THE TABS AS EXCESS MAY CAUSE YOUR CARD TO STICK SHUT!
...Fold the card in half and press down to adhere the tabs, ensuring that all the sides are even...
...Once your adhesive has set, pop open the box and decorate as desired!

Choose the location you would like to save the file and click Save.
Firstly, print off the backing paper of your choice onto card stock (whatever your printer will allow), then turn over and print the box frame template on the reverse. Cut around all the solid outside lines...
...Using an embossing tool and ruler, score all the dashed lines...
...Next, using a craft knife and metal ruler, cut the central solid lines that make up an 'I' or 'H' shape, as shown in red below...
...Fold along all the score lines, then place adhesive (either tacky glue or strong DST) along one of the long side tabs...
...Fold over so that the tab score line lines up with the cut edge of the aperture and adhere...
...apply adhesive to the three small tabs at either end of the boxed part of the frame and fold in, ensuring that the box section remains square...
...Repeat with the other side...
...fold the inner sections around to create the other box sides and adhere using the rectangular side tabs. The frame is now complete and can be measured to fix to the front of a card blank, or mount...
