Passion for Promarkers - Come Fly with Me...

Good morning, dear Blogger buddies and a Happy Tuesday to you all!  For those of you in the UK, I hope you enjoyed the long Bank Holiday weekend?  Unfortunately, it's back to normality with a bump again today!
So, it's the start of a new challenge over at Passion for Promarkers and this week it's the lovely Marie in the hostess chair.  She has chosen a theme of 'Come Fly with me', so we'd like to see things that can fly on your projects...birds, butterflies, bees, fairies, aeroplanes, balloons and whatever else you can think of! Nice and easy!
This week we are sponsored by A Day for Daisies who are offering one lucky winner a $12.00 voucher for their online store...
Don't forget, to be eligible to win the prize, you MUST use your Letraset products (i.e. pro, flex, tria, aqua, metallic or neon markers) and of course follow the theme.
...I decided to go with a little bird which is actually part of the digistamp Birdie Friend from Whimsy Stamps.  I wanted to colour the flower as a poppy, though I don't often use red in my crafting - don't know why as I love the vibrancy it gives...

Card Recipe -

Bird : Cappuccino, Caramel, Cocoa, Mustard, Gold
Flower : Red, Crimson, Burgundy, Gold
Stem and Leaves : Pear, Moss, Olive Green
Papers - First Edition Wild Flowers and Boho Chic

Don't forget to hop on over to the Passion for Promarkers blog to see what my talented teamies have made for your inspiration and to enter into the challenge.

Sincerely Yours Papercraft@Wrexham Show...

Good morning, lovely people of Blogland!  My, these days sure are flying by - I can't quite believe that it's Sincerely Yours Papercraft@Wrexham Show...TOMORROW! Arghhhh!
I've had a bit of a hectic week, preparing for hubby's 40th on the weekend as we're having a 'bit of a do' and with DT cards and commission cards to squeeze inbetween things, crafting for pleasure has gone out of the window! I am going to have to try and tackle the explosion that is my craft room today, either that or fit a lock on the door so nobody can see! Plus there's a birthday cake to make and pressies to wrap, then I'll be sorting and packing the car ready for the morning...oh and before that, picking up my little man who'll be back from his school holiday in Cardiff - the house has been so quiet without him and I feel a little lost! As you can tell, I don't really know whether I'm coming or going and haven't a clue where to start....
...On that note, I'd better go and start something!  I hope you can come along to the show at Wrexham tomorrow and if you do, don't forget to pop over and say 'Hi!'...
Crafty hugs,
Lisa x

Wokshop makes and a mug...

Good morning, dear Blogger friends on a soggy Monday morning here in North Wales! I thought I would pop in and share the projects we made at Saturday's workshop...
...Our first project was a tissue box cover made from kraft coloured card, scrapbook papers and silk flowers...
...The girls were all chuffed with their finished boxes and we thought that it was nice to make something for themselves for a change!...
...Our second project was a card using the Fish image and papers from Animal Antics...
...I'd just like to say a big 'Hi!' to all the girls, Margaret, Margaret, Joyce, Dorothy, Vera, Linda, Karen, Carol, Carole, Ruth, Clare and give a special mention to Melanie and Louise who are recent members to our group - it is lovely to have you with us!  I hope that Carol and Anna enjoyed their jollies too, as they couldn't be with us! :)
Hubby and I have also been having a play with a mug press that I've borrowed off my sister to see if we can get to grips with it and we managed to print our first mug for hubby's cousin before he went back up to Scotland...
...Not bad for a first attempt and with no instructions!  It could have done with being heated for another half a minute to get the image crisper, but it's a start!  Need to come up with some designs to have a go at next.
Hope you're having a wonderful start to the week and I'll be back in the morning with a special post for Passion for Promarkers.
Crafty hugs,

Good morning, my lovelies! It's that time of the week again which sees another fab challenge begin over at Passion for Promarkers!  This week it's the talented Lou Mac in the hostess chair and she has chosen a colour theme of 'Blues and Purples', so these need to be the dominant colours in your project...
...you can enter using any type of creation, it doesn’t have to be a card, but as always, to be eligible for our prize draw you must use your Letraset products (promarkers, flex markers, tria markers, aqua markers or metallic markers) and of course follow the theme.
Our generous sponsor this week is Bugaboo and they are offering one lucky winner a prize of a $21.00 voucher to spend in their online store.

For my card I used the Scarecrow Digistamp from A Year in Cards  and went really CAS...

...The polka dot paper is also from the Scarecrow design set of A Year in Cards and I added a touch of lace along the joining edges...
...I stamped a sentiment using my small alpahbet stamps and matted everything onto lilac cardstock.  I then finished off wth a small string bow, a touch of crystal glitter and some pearls.
A short and sweet post from me today - we have family down from Scotland this week, so we're off to the Ironworks Centre in Oswestry for a nosy and maybe some lunch out! Have a terrific Tuesday and I hope you can find the time to join in with our challenge this week!
Big crafty hugs,
I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges :

What a weekend!...

...Hello there, lovely Blogger pals and a Happy Monday to you all!  Well we're back from our little jaunt over the border and it was quite a whirlwind of a weekend - with doing 2 shows in two different places, the weekend seemed to pass in a blur!  I met some really lovely crafters and got such wonderful feedback for my designs and samples, it really does make the time spent in the making so worthwhile!
I'd like to give a special mention to Maureen McLaughlin - thank you so much for the wonderful comments, Maureen, it really does mean a lot!  And if anyone is reading this and knows Heather Lennon who came along to the Edinburgh show, can you please let her know that I received her lovely email and did try to reply, but my message just kept getting returned to sender!

It's Sincerely Yours Papercrafts@Wrexham Show in a fortnight (Saturday 23rd May) but that's just a half an hour or so down the road for us, so a bit of a difference from the 5 hour drive over the weekend! If any of you can get to it, please come over and say hello!
For today, it's back to normality with a bump with a pile of washing, cleaning and ironing, plus it's kid's club today, so I'll have to prep for that too...right, off to get my second load of washing out on the line - it's perfect laundry drying weather today! Have a wonderful week and I'll be back tomorrow with the my DT card for another fab challenge over at Passion for Promarkers!
Hugs,
Lisa x

Another one...

...Good morning, lovely peeps of Blogland!  So, if all has gone to plan, I will now be in Glasgow at the Sincerely Yours Papercraft Show! (I'm not very good at using my phone for stuff, but if I get chance, will try and take some pics for you and upload to Facebook when I get across to Edinburgh.)  It'll be a busy day with setting up first thing, the show from 10am until 4pm, then pack everything up, a hop, skip and a jump over to Edinburgh and set it all back up again ready for tomorrow..followed by a well deserved glass of rose in the hotel bar, I think!
Here's another sample made using the golf image and backing papers from Boys2Men...

Card Recipe -
Dark Brown card - 14cm square
DIY checkerplate paper - 13.5cm square
Light Brown matt - 12cm square
Golf text, argyle and plaid papers - 2.5 x 9cm
Golf decoupage topper
Golf sentiment
Impression Obsession Cloud dies
Embellishments - Crystal glitter, Glossy Accents, Chocolate Brown Satin Ribbon, pearls
Hope you're all having a fabulous Saturday!  Edinburgh tomorrow, but it's close down and set back up before then!

Off to Scotland!...

Hello, lovely Blogger friends!  We're off up to Glasgow later in preparation for tomorrow's Show...I always get the jitters, hoping that I've remembered everything and that all goes to plan...that's the  control freak in me, I suppose! Fingers crossed the traffic isn't too bad - thankfully I don't have to drive (I HATE driving and would never contemplate going on the motorway - I'm a coiled up spring just being a passenger!)
So here's my third new sample inspired by Carolyn's fabulous diarama card HERE (thanks again, Carolyn!)  This is my first ever diarama card using the football decoupage topper and papers from Boys2Men CD-Rom...
Card Recipe -
Card base - 2 sheets A4 cut lengthways to 14cm and scored at 2cm and 3.5cm at each end, then corners rounded
Red matt - 13.5cm square
Football paper - 13cm square
Cut aperture in football paper then adhere to red matt and cut smaller aperture in red paper.
Adhere to card base front then cut aperture again.
TIP : place a piece of copy paper on your bottom plate when cutting, to save marking your card
Football text paper - 13.5cm square
Adhere to card base back then attach front and back together
Black - 2 pieces 1.5 x 13.5cm, two corners rounded
Football decoupage image topper, matted onto black card.
Football sentiment
Black strips - 0.5 x 14cm
I added a writing panel on the back with the silver trophy image and the whole thing folds flat to fit in an A5 envelope.
Have a fabulous weekend and I'll see you on the other side!
Hugs,
Lisa x

Another Boys2Men sample....

Good afternoon, lovely peeps! I'm back to share another new sample from my Boys2Men CD-Rom.  This time it was a rugby card using the rubgy decoupage topper and papers...
Card Recipe -
Card blank - 12.5 x 17.5cm (approx 5 x 7 inches)
Light Brown matt - 12 x 17cm, bottom corners rounded
Dark Brown - 11.5 x 16.5cm, bottom corners rounded and top half embossed with Cuttlebug Distress Stripes embossing folder
Light Brown matt - 10.5 x 7cm
Rugby text paper - 10 x 6.5cm
Green matt - 2.5 x 12.5cm
Rugby stripe - 2 x 12cm
Circular Rugby decoupage topper
Sue Wilson Pierced Flag Dies
Embellishments - Pearl stars, Crystal glitter and pearls
All patterned paper edges were inked with Vintage Photo Dstress Ink
The layout for this card was inspired by another fantastic sketch over at The Deconstructed Sketch #139 - I find Jen's layouts a great starting point and they make crafting so much easier and less time consuming too!
Have a terrific Thursday!
Hugs,

Only 3 days to go!...

Good afternoon, dear Blogger buddies and a happy, if somewhat wet Wednesday to you all!  I can't quite believe that it's only 3 days until the Sincerely Yours Papercraft @ Glasgow and Edinburgh Shows are upon us!...
http://s424914763.initial-website.co.uk/glasgow-9th-may/
http://s424914763.initial-website.co.uk/edinburgh-10th-may/
...Tickets are available at a discounted price if you buy online before Thursday 8pm and include free tea and coffee, they are available through the Sincerely Yours website HERE...
...I have been prepping for the show, sorting out discs and samples and felt that I needed to make some new Boys2Men samples as they were looking a bit worn and dated - it is surprising how much my card style has changed over the years!  I'll have a few cards to share with you over the next couple of days, then it'll be the long haul up to Scotland for what I hope will be a fun filled weekend!  I love meeting new fellow crafters and would be really pleased if you come along and say 'Hi!' at my stand!
So here's a card made using the Car image and papers from Boys2Men...
Card Recipe -
Card base - 12.5 x 17.5cm (approx. 5 x 7 inches)
Red matt - 12 x 17cm
Tyre track paper - 11.5 x 16.5cm
Black matt - 10.5 x 11cm
Silver paper - 10 x 10.5cm
Navy Blue matt - 8.5 x 13.5cm
Car text paper - 8 x 13cm
Car .png printed in Windows Photo Viewer, 9 to a page
Car sentiment
Sue Wilson Pierced Flag Dies
Embellishments - Star button, Large Pearls for headlights, Silver glitter, pearls and Glossy Accents
...I have left the inside blank as it will be in a cello bag on my display board, but if I were making it for sending, I would replicate the paper layers of the front, replacing the text paper with plain for writing on.
Right off to make some tuna and sweetcorn pasta for my little man for when he gets in - he's got after school sports until 4.30pm, then it's footie training at 6, so he'll sleep tonight! Hope this rain isn't in for the long haul! Have a fabulous evening!
Hugs,
