Passion for Markers - Clean and Simple...

Hello there, crafty buddies! Another Tuesday hot foots it around the corner and we have a brand new challenge starting today over at Passion for Markers! This week it's my turn to host and I've picked my all time favourite card style...Clean and Simple! So ditch the decorations, lose the layers and forget the fussiness, it's all about the simplicity...

We're being sponsored by the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a $12 voucher to their online store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out the pretty 'Flower Jar'...

I coloured the image with Pro/Flexmarkers and created a shaker window where the label is, stamping a small sentiment that came free with one of the issues of SC&P. I also decoupaged the front flower and leaf...

Colour List :
Flowers - Canary, Sunflower, Gold, Honeycomb, Halloween, Tan, Cappuccino, Umber
Leaves - Meadow Green, Apple, Forest Green
Label and jar - Cool Aqua, Surf Blue, Champagne, Linen, Pebble Blue, Blender

I inked a circle of Broken China Distress Oxide on my 5x7 inch card base and added some patterned papers to the bottom third. I added a Happy Birthday stamped sentiment to the top left corner, attached the flower jar image and finished with some pearls and diamantes...

I must admit that I really like how this one turned out - so much so, that I went on to make 4 more for my stash, some in different colour ways!...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations!

Hugs,

Passion for Markers - Summer Colours...

Good evening, crafty buddies! I'm a little late posting today, but I suppose better late than never! Things are pretty hectic at the moment with our little business - it very much seems to be all or nothing and just now it's definitely all! (Not that I'm complaining!) But sadly, as usual, it is my crafty time that takes a hit when life takes over...

Anyhow, the reason I'm here is to tell you about our brand new challenge which starts today over at Passion for Markers! The lovely Julie is in the hostess chair with a topical theme of 'Summer Colours'...and you can make whatever you like, as long as you include colours that say Summer to you, whether it's neon shades, brights or floral colour tones...

We're being sponsored by All Dressed Up Stamps who are offering one lucky winner the choice of  2 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I chose the super sweet Little Camp...

Summer for me is blue skies, green grass and pink florals (just like my garden at the moment!), so I coloured up this little cutie to match! I was a little ambitious in paper piecing the tent, but it wasn't too fiddly to cut out in the end and I love the end result! Of course, I had to have clouds both in the background and die cuts, and I have a real love of large sentiments at the minute (thanks to Gina K!) so popped the word 'adventure' up on foam pads...

I hope you can find the time to join in with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations!

Passion for Markers - Make it Cute...

Good afternoon, crafty friends! I hope that you all had a lovely Bank Holiday here in the UK and that the sun shone for you as it did here in North Wales (hence my lack of crafting!)...

We have a new challenge starting today over at Passion for Markers and the lovely Sue (aka Aunty Sue) is in the hostess chair with an easy peasy theme of 'Make it Cute'...so think teddy bears, sweet images and cute critters!

We're being sponsored by Star Jam Lines who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 2 digital images from their online store...and there's lots of cuteness to choose from!

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and this one is the super sweet 'Little Deer'...I used a forest background die that I picked up in the Sizzix sale and snipped out the deer shapes that were on it, replacing them with the cute image and sentiment. I inked the background with Distress Oxides and coloured the deer with my Pro/Flexmarkers...I need to be more organised when it comes to writing down my colours, as I tend to do them on bits of paper that then get chucked in the bin?!...

With a large image and busy background, I didn't want to add too much else to the card, so just added the butterfly that also comes in the image set and a touch of crystal glitter...

I hope that you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations! Enjoy the sunshine, whilst it lasts!

Crafty hugs,
