Passion for Promarkers - Bright colours...

I'm back again to let all you crafty people know that there is a new challenge starting today over at Passion for Promarkers! The lovely Hazel is in the hostess chair and she's given us a nice, easy theme of 'Bright colours'...so ditch the pastels, banish the greys and get colourful!
We're being sponsored by Bugaboo who are offering one lucky winner a $12.00 voucher to their online store...don't forget to be in with a chance of winning the prize, you MUST use your Letraset/Winsor & Newton mediums and follow the challenge theme!
We were lucky enough to be able to choose an image to play with and I went with '29 again!'...
I part coloured up 3 images, so that I could decoupage up the 29 and balloons...
I decided to go dotty with my papers and use polka dots in a bright, lime green and fuchsia pink.  Some diamante sparkles and a bit of doodling finished off the card and I'll add an insert once I've decided who the recipient will be...
I hope you can find the time to join in with our fun challenge this week and I look forward to seeing what you all create!

Historic Chester...

Good morning, Blogland! It's another beautifully sunny day here in North Wales and we've been making the most of the sunshine in our campervan Daisy! This last weekend, we put on our tourist glasses and visited a city which is only about an hour away from our house and which is probably overlooked by many of us (I know it was by us!)...Chester...we stayed in a little site just outside the city and spent Saturday doing a tour of the city walls - it really is a fascinating city and is steeped in history.  The architecture varies from Roman through to modern day and if you're into a bit of retail therapy, the streets are filled with a mixture of independent, boutique and high street stores.

We visited the cathedral, where there was a modern art exhibition - I have to say, we preferred the art of the cathedral itself and could've missed the Beetlejuice inspired pieces, but whatever floats your boat!
On Sunday, our eldest joined up with us and we went to Breakout Chester to see if we could beat the room...
We'd chosen one of the 3 star rooms to see how we got on and managed to break out in just over 37 minutes - almost half of the allocated time...not bad for a first go! We'll definitely be going back again, though will up to a harder level next time and it's also something that will be going on the Christmas present list as a family day out...if you're into solving puzzles, I would definitely recommend it! (Only problem was the cowboy hat wouldn't fit on my big head!)
Well, I'd best be off to make the most of this weather and get some washing on the line...have a terrific Tuesday and thanks for dropping by!
Hugs,

Passion for Promarkers - Anything Goes...

Good morning, Blogland and a Happy 4th July to all those in the United States!
Before I get down to business, I'd just like to say a MASSIVE thank you to all those who came along to the Sincerely Yours Papercraft Show at Bebington on Sunday, to those who bought discs and gave lovely comments on my samples...you make it all worthwhile!
Well, it's Tuesday...so you know what that means, don't you?...Yep! It's a brand new challenge starting over at Passion for Promarkers today and they don't get much easier than 'Anything Goes!' We're being sponsored by Crafty Sentiments who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 3 digital images from their online store...
We were given the option of an image to play with, so I decided to try and get ahead of the game and made an Anniversary card for hubby, for next month, using the ever so sweet Couples...
I kept the colours quite natural and added a bit of hessian, for texture.  I tried to keep some texture in the fur of the bears too, using short strokes to colour them and not blending too much...
I do like the way this one turned out and the kraft background gives it a lovely warmth.
Hope you can find the time to join in with our super easy challenge this week and I look forward to seeing what you all create! Don't forget to hop over to the Passion for Promarkers blog to join in and to see what my talented teamies have created for your inspiration...
Crafty hugs,
I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges :

Sincerely Yours Papercraft Show @ Bebington...

Good evening, Blogger buddies! My, what a crazy, busy day it's been! Things have been working against me in preparation for tomorrow's show on the Wirral, as firstly my PayPal card reader decided to give up the ghost (lots of people have been complaining about the fact that they stop working despite only being used a few times), then my printer decided it was going to play silly beggars and would not print with good quality - a couple of hours of print head alignment and nozzle cleaning didn't seem to make the slightest bit of difference, but a brainwave at around 8pm meant that by printing in High Quality, I managed to get some pages printed that didn't have lines all across them!
We also tried to get as much done outdoors as possible, whilst the weather was fair - bed stripped, three loads of washing dried on the line, hedge and grass cut, big man's handbrake cable replaced (thanks to hubby, I just act as tea girl and assistant, handing tools!) plus lasagne made, a few card samples added to the box and the car packed ready for the morning ...just hope I remember everything!
If you're coming along to The Oval Leisure Centre at Bebington, tomorrow, do stop by and say 'Hi!' - it's always lovely to put names to faces!
Hugs,
