Passion for Markers - Frame it!...

Good morning, crafty friends! Another Tuesday comes around with a brand new challenge starting over at Passion for Markers...this week it's the lovely Lorraine in the hostess chair with a fun theme of 'Frame it!' - so we would like to see a frame somewhere on your projects...

We're being sponsored by Dr Digi's House of Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 2 digital images from their online store...

We were lucky enough to be able to pick out an image to play with and I decided to go for a masculine theme (for hubby's birthday next month, but Ssssshhhhh! Don't tell him!) and chose 'Ford Popular' as our business refurbishes parts for classic cars...

I really liked the layout of this card and similar ones that I found on Pinterest (I must admit, I love all of Ewa's creations and am now going to be stalking her blog!) and thought it would be a perfect layout for this week's theme...

I coloured the Ford Pop with my Pro/Flexmarkers and yes, I do have a colour list for you...am I getting good at this?!...

Blender, Champagne, Sandstone, Cappuccino

Cool Aqua, Duck Egg, Storm Blue

Cool Grey 2, 4, 5, Storm Cloud and Umber

I used a couple of square stitched dies to create the frames  and cut 9 of them out of dark brown cardstock. I mat them onto an old scrapbook script paper that is getting down to the last pieces in my scrap drawer and then onto a distressed aqua paper. I coloured and cut out 2 of the Ford Pops, then cut one in half, mounting them with foam pads fr a touch of dimension...

I embellished with some arrow dies, stars, my favourite Yana sentiment dies and a circle label to look like a road sign. I really like the way this one turned out and shall definitely be taking more inspiration from Ewa's blog...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful makes...

Passion for Markers - Pretty Pastels...

Well hello there, crafty friends! Gosh these weeks really are whizzing by and we're already over a quarter of the way through the year, but I hope you all managed to enjoy the Easter weekend and hopefully catch some sunshine wherever you are!...

It's that time again, to announce our brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers...this week I am playing hostess and am staying in my crafty comfort zone, wanting to see all those 'Pretty Pastels' - so ditch the dark, ban the brights and settle into a more muted palette. You can make any type of creation, or any theme (even that holiday that happens at the end of the year?!) but just remember to be in with a chance of winning this week's prize, you MUST use your marker pens (of any medium) somewhere on your project and keep your colour palette pastel!

We're being sponsored by Di's Digistamps who are offering one lucky winner a $6.00 voucher to their online store...

I created my card for a friend's daughter who turned 21 this weekend and had to colour her hair to match...

This is an old KennyK image that I teamed up with a pretty aqua, apricot and lemon colour scheme, raiding my scrap drawers for papers. I used the birthday die from Yana Smakula Layered Script sentiments, which is fast becoming one of my all time favourite die sets and a large number die, coloured in an ombre effect using Soft Peach, Watermelon and Coral Promarkers. I glittered the numbers and added some die cut stars and gems but kept the card itself pretty CAS.

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to visiting all of your blogs to see your wonderful creations!

Passion for Markers - Spring...

Good morning, crafty buddies and a Happy Tuesday to you all! We have a brand new challenge starting today over at Passion for Markers with the lovely Julie choosing a topical theme of 'Spring'...so we'd like to see all of those Springtime elements like bunnies, lambs, Spring flowers, etc...

We're being sponsored by Alex Syberia Designs who are offering one lucky winner a $10 gift voucher to spend on digital products from their online store...

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I went with the ever so pretty Dog Rose set which gives you the main image and 3 variations of slimline card panel...

I coloured the image with my Pro/Flexmarkers, fussy cutting with a border and adding a decoupage layer on the flowers. For a change I managed to write down a colour list for you, so here goes -

Flowers - Blender, Pale Pink, Baby Pink, Dusky Rose, Buttercup, Sunflower
Leaves - Pear Green, Moss, Pesto, Apple, Forest Green
Hips - Soft Peach, Rose Peach, Sunset, Tan, Pear Green

I kept the card in my favourite CAS style and opted for a DL layout, inking the card front where the image would sit with Broken China Distress Oxide and splattering with my paintbrush. I added a strip of pink dotty paper and scalloped rectangle to mat the pretty script sentiment, then simply finished with some pearls and a touch of crystal glitter on the stamens...how easy?!...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your Sringtime makes...

Passion for Markers - Colours of Spring...

Hello there, crafty friends! Another Tuesday arrives with the start of a brand new challenge over at Passion for Markers. The lovely Sue is in the hostess chair with a topical theme (or it would be if Mother Nature hadn't decided to turn the thermostat down!?!) of 'Colours of Spring'...for me, Spring is primroses, magnolia and pale blue skies but as long as you use colours that evoke Spring to you and remember to use your markers, then you'll be in with a chance of winning this week's prize!

We're being sponsored by Dies to Die For and they are kindly offering one lucky winner a £15.00 voucher to spend in their online store...

For my card I used a new to me stamp set from Simon Says Stamp called Sketched Flowers...those destash sites are dangerous!...

I coloured up with my Pro/Flexmarkers and gold embossed one of the sentiment stamps, keeping the card clean and simple with the image being the star of the show! I mat onto a panel of gold and added just a couple of flags, gems and a touch of glitter to embellish...

If I can find my colour list, I'll post it up, but there is a number of lists on my desk and not one of them has been labelled as to what it coloured?! One step forward, two steps back!

I hope you can find the time to play along with our challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful Spring inspired creations!...

Workshop makes...

Good afternoon, crafty buddies...well, this is a rarity! A post between challenges!...

I must hold my hands up and admit to having neglected my little corner of Blogland for a while, but these days life seems to get in the way of everything else and like most people, time is a scarce resource to be used wisely! I am hoping to find a way to be able to create one post here and then edit to other social media platforms, but I don't know if it will work...or even if I have the staying power?!! Ha, ha!...

But for now, I have the projects that we created at last weekend's workshop to share with you...

First up we made a little post it note holder with a Summery vibe and embossed heart strawberries...

Next up was a pretty sunflower card which was inspired by a make I saw on Pinterest, created by Papertrey Ink HERE...I just loved the aqua and yellow colour combination and keep telling myself that I must try to use more than just pink in my crafting!

Thanks for dropping by and I hope to be able to share more craftiness with you in the future...fingers crossed!

Passion for Markers - Things with Wings...

Good morning, dear crafty friends! I hope you're all well and enjoying the Spring weather (if a little on the chilly side?!)...

I'm popping in this morning to let you all know about our brand new challenge which starts today over at Passion for Markers...the lovely Marlene is in the hostess chair with a topical theme of 'Things with Wings' - with the recent sunshine, there has been a definite increase in activity with winged beasts of all varieties!

We're being sponsored by Di's Digi Stamps who are offering one lucky winner a $6.00 voucher to spend in their online store...just remember to be in with a chance of winning the prize, you MUST use markers (of any variety) somewhere on your creation and follow the challenge theme...Good Luck!

For my card I used a new to me stamp from Stampavie called Blossom Birds...

 I coloured in using my Pro/Flexmarkers -

Birds - Putty, Tan, Cinnamon, Primrose, Buttercup, Blue Pearl
Flowers - Blender, Pale Pink, Dusky Rose, Antique Pink, Buttercup, Mustard, Sandstone
Leaves and branch - Soft Khaki, Pear Green, Olive Green, Umber
Outer shadow - Pastel Blue

I wanted to keep my card pretty simple and dug out my Taylored Expessions Leafy Vine embossing folder for the background...it's funny how I go through spells of not using something for a long time, as I haven't used my embossing folders for ages!...I added a strip of polka dot green paper and mat the image onto a fresh, sky blue coloured scalloped rectangle. I embellished with some die cut flowers and leaves, a pretty sentiment, some blue pearls and a touch of gold glitter on the flower stamens...et voila!

I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations!

Passion for Markers - Add some flowers...

Hi there, crafty friends! Another brand new challenge starts today over at Passion for Markers with the lovely Marie in the hostess chair and she'd like you to 'Add some flowers'...so it could be floral papers, images, die cuts or embellishments...

We're being sponsored by Colour of Love who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 3 digital images from their online store...

Just remember that to be in with a chance of winning the prize, you must use markers somewhere on your project and it really helps if you let us know where you've used them!

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out 'Rory's Poppy Bouquet'...

I tried to go with a colour scheme that was different to my usual pink tones, colouring her in with my Pro/Flexmarkers and have to apologise again that I didn't write the colour list down (*note to self*...must try to be more organised - not just in crafting but in life in general?!)

I used papers from my stash and stamped some extra flowers from a Cardmaking Magic set, adding in some die cut leaves from the same set. A simple sentiment and some tiny gems for her necklace finished everything off...

I hope you can find the time to play along with our floral challenge this week (and if you do, could you send some my way as crafty time is rather sparse these days!) I look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations too...

Crafty hugs,
