Passion for Promarkers - For a Birthday...

Good morning, crafty buddies! Another Tuesday arrives in earnest, which can only mean one thing...time for a brand new challenge over at Passion for Promarkers! This week it's the lovely Nic (aka Coops) in the hostess chair and she's given us a very simple theme of 'For a Birthday'...couldn't be easier?!
We are being sponsored by Di's Digi Stamps, who are offering one lucky winner a $6.00 voucher to spend in their online store...
https://www.disdigistamps.com/
(Just remember that to be in with a chance of winning the prize, you MUST use your Letraset/Winsor & Newton mediums and follow the challenge theme)

For my DT card, I used the parrot digi from my latest papercraft USB 'Words at Play' and coloured him up with my Pro/Flexmarkers. I teamed him up with the leaf paper from the same design set and a scrap of yellow polka dot from my scrap drawers. I love a pun, so this fun sentiment from the design set was just perfect for the theme of my card... and I finished off with some clear glitter, gems, a few peel off borders and some Glossy accents for the parrot's eye.

I hope you can find the time to play along with our super simple challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations...

Until next time, have a truly terrific Tuesday...

Crafty hugs,
I'd like to enter my card into the Unicorn Challenge blog theme of 'Fully Loaded or CAS' which runs until the end of the month

A hot and sunny Bank Holiday in Co. Durham...

Good morning, my lovelies! Hope you all had a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK and enjoyed the sunshine?! We had a fabulous weekend away in the camper, up at Barnard's Castle, Co.Durham and despite only getting a glimpse of this pretty county, I'm sure it will be somewhere we'll be visiting again!...

We walked for miles, including visiting Barnard Castle and the town, Bowes Museum and the fabulous High Force waterfall! The weather was hot, hot, hot, which meant that we limited our time in the baking sun and ended up retreating back to the campsite by early afternoon...
It was lovely to get away and just relax from the daily grind, but as ever, it is over too soon and back to normality with a bump! We already have our next weekend away booked, so am hoping that the Summer isn't over just yet...although 30 degrees was a tad on the warm side for my liking! Until next time, thanks for having us Co.Durham and we hope to be back soon...
Hugs,

Bee happy...

I'm back again...so much for tidying the house...I got distracted by the fact that Moving Along with the Times challenge blog has a theme of 'Bees' this week!?!...
Anyone who knows me well, will know that I have a bit of a love of bees...now that's not saying that I want to keep them, or that I want them on everything in my house, but like clouds, there is just something about them that I love! So, it was inevitable that this pretty bee die fell into my basket whilst perusing the Sizzix sale a couple of weeks ago!
I loosely inked the die cut with Distress Inks and used my Promarkers to colour the detail on the bee, then layered up his wings with vellum for a bit more dimension. I teamed it up with one of the papers from the Watering Can set of Words at Play and a bit of yellow polka dot from my scrap drawers for the corners. I added a touch of glitter to the bee's body, vellum behind the die panel to diffuse the aperture and created a sentiment in PS to coordinate.
I've just waved off the little man, so feel a little lost at the moment...need to get that list written!
Have a lovely day and don't forget to Bee Happy!

Passion for Promarkers - Dies and/or Punches...

Good morning, crafty friends! We have a brand new challenge starting today over at Passion for Promarkers and the lovely Marie has given a super easy theme of 'Dies and/or Punches'...simple!
We're being sponsored by Crafty Sentiments, who are kindly offering one lucky winner a choice of 3 digital images from their online store...

http://www.craftysentimentsdesigns.co.uk/

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and this was the ever so sweet 'Snowman at the Window'...
I wanted the cute little snowman to 'pop' from the page, so decided to colour the sky behind him in a rich, dark blue, then added some Liquid Pearl dots as snow...I kept the card very CAS with just a doodled frame and some die cut foliage. The sentiment is one I found from a magazine set (I think?!)...to be honest, it was what was nearest to hand, as my craft table looks like there has been an explosion of epic crafty proportions and I'm down to about a 4 inch square to work in!

The little man (despite the fact that he's now taller than me!) is off to Scotland to visit family with his Nain (Welsh for  Nan) so I'm hoping to give the house a blitz and maybe even freshen up some of the paintwork...if all goes to plan?! I'm finding it hard to focus at the moment and tend to flit from one thing to the next, not really knowing where to start, so I feel a list may be needed?! I also need to let some things go..I have boxes of books and stuff from the last time I had a sort out and insisted I was going to do a car boot sale, but we just never have the time on a weekend and if it's nice, we'd rather be out in Daisy...I just need to get a bit more organised...or win the lottery...one or the other?!!

Right, off to get my dishes washed and I may even be able to put some washing on the line today...make the most of the sunshine - I can't quite believe that we're already half way through August...that slippery slope is getting a lot steeper now and the nights are already starting to draw in!

Have a totally terrific Tuesday, whatever you're up to and I'll be back soon with some more craftiness, unless I get too organised! Ha, ha!

Flower pot...

Good afternoon, crafty buddies! In the bid to try and do some more crafting, I have decided to play along with this week's challenge over at Passion for Promarkers, where the lovely Karen has picked a super easy theme of 'Flower power'...
For my card, I used the flower pot digistamp from my latest papercraft USB 'Words at Play' and teamed it with the dot and gingham from the Apple and Acorn paper set. I kept the design quite simple (because that seems to be my style these days) and just added a few embellishments in the way of flags, pearls and a touch of glitter... The splatters came about because one of my Promarkers splashed the page when I took the lid off, so had to roll with it and add a few more with my Distress Oxides!

It would be great if you could play along with the challenge this week, as numbers are dwindling at the minute - I'm guessing due to Summer holidays and the nicer weather that we've been having, or you may be like me and need a reason to get your crafty butt into gear!

Crafty hugs,
I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges :
