Passion for Promarkers - Bunnies and/or Chicks...

Good morning, crafty buddies! It's Tuesday, which means a brand new challenge starting over at Passion for Promarkers! The lovely Shelly is in the hostess chair this week and she's chosen us a topical theme, with Easter just around the corner, of Bunnies and/or Chicks...
We are being sponsored by the wonderful All Dressed Up, who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 2 digital images from their online store...
https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/alldressedupstamps
Just don't forget, that to be in with a chance of winning the prize, you must use your Letraset/Windsor & Newton mediums and follow the challenge theme

We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked the super sweet Easter Bunny...

I decided to do some paper piecing, as I thought that the bunny was a simple enough shape to do so, so printed the digistamp on 4x6 paper, then overprinted with a grey and a peach polka dot pattern before shading with my Promarkers and cutting out. I decoupaged the bow and created a simple card design with grosgrain ribbon, paper lace border and a few handmade Spring flowers...

I hope that you can play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations,

Take care,

(Please do not think that I am ignoring what's going on in the world at the moment, but I am trying to keep my crafty posts and personal ones separate, so if you'd like to read my take on it all, I have a post HERE)

Unprecedented times...

Good morning, dear Blogger friends! Well, where do I start? Although I try to keep my blog posts as light as possible, I feel that I cannot ignore the current situation that we all find ourselves in. With news last night of a countrywide lockdown, I hope that people will start to take this virus a lot more seriously...none of us want to have to isolate ourselves or disrupt our lives in this way and the uncertainty of it all is enormous, but we have to protect ourselves, others and more importantly our NHS. We can get through this and things will return to some sense of normality, hopefully sooner rather than later, but it's going to be a long Summer!

Hubby has gone in today to finish off in work and make sure that everything is closed down and safe for their closure from this afternoon, I've been put on standby with the council, my eldest is working from home and my youngest has had his GCSEs cancelled, so things are going to be very different for the foreseeable future...

...But in the darkness of all this, there has to be some positive - I will get time to spend with my family, I will have time to finish those jobs that I have been putting off for weeks, we can still enjoy the outdoors, both in our own garden and going for a walk in the amazing countryside that we have, literally, on our doorstep. I know that I am lucky in this sense, I have my loved ones around me and won't know the isolation of being on my own, but for those of you that read this who are isolating alone, you are in my thoughts and I send you a virtual hug...

Take care, stay well and I look forward to the day when all this starts to get better...right, normal craft mode will resume in my next post!

New designs...Sunflowers and Owls...

Good morning, Blogger buddies! With everything that is going on and all the uncertainty that surrounds it, I have been trying to do something positive with my time and have actually been enjoying doing a bit of design work. There has been something so therapeutic about losing myself with a piece of white paper and pencil...

If you follow me on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/lisa.macvicar.714) you will probably have seen some of these creations, but I thought it about time that I tried to give my little corner of Blogland a bit of TLC, so here's what you might have missed...

First up is a pretty Sunflower card...I never use enough yellow and orange in my crafting and don't really know why, as when I do, I tend to love the results and how happy they make me feel...

https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/786438525/sunflower-digistamp-and-precoloured?ref=shop_home_active_3&crt=1

This set contains 12 files in total, including the individual Sunflower image as a black line digistamp, a paler 'no lines' digistamp, precoloured with a black outline and precoloured with a paler 'no line' technique...and also the Sunflower frame in the same formats, with and without the sentiment...and is available to buy in my Etsy store for just £3.00 HERE...

Next up is my Owl design...

I have to admit that I was pretty pleased with how this one turned out and he is available in my Etsy store either as just a digistamp for £1.99 HERE or with the precoloured images for £3.00 HERE...

I shall be back to share some more of my images tomorrow, but for now, I hope you like my designs and if you'd like to purchase or see more pop over to my Etsy shop - ellasdesignwales

Thank you so much for dropping by and I hope you are all keeping safe and well in these troubling times,

Hugs,

Passion for Promarkers - Make it Feminine...

Good morning, crafty friends and a Happy Tuesday to you all! We have a brand new challenge starting today over at Passion for Promarkers with the lovely Nic (aka Coops) giving us a super easy theme of 'Make it Feminine'...
We are being sponsored by JMC Designs who are offering one lucky winner a choice of 1 digital collection from their online store...
https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/JMCDesignsArt?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=721970071
We were lucky enough to get an image to play with and I picked out the slightly quirky, Edna...

Colour List -
Head -Ivory, Champagne, Tan
Neck, eyelids and legs - Blush, Sunkissed Pink and Spice
Beak - Pastel Yellow, Mustard and Gold
Body - Cool Grey 2, 4, 5 and Black (I've lost my Cool Grey 3, so that's why I didn't us it?!)
Wings and neck fluff - Tea Green and Watermelon

I coloured Edna up with my Pro/Flexmarkers and teamed her with some papers from Unique Stories paper pad from The Works. I knew straight away that I wanted to add some feathers and am thinking of adding the sentiment, 'Shake your tail feathers!', but I'll let you into a little secret...I printed the sentiment on my Brother labeling machine and then used my heat gun to dry the Glossy Accents on her eyes a little quicker...guess what?!...label paper is heat reactive, so I ended up with a black mess, so I left her without!! I'll probably just put it on the insert inside when it comes to sending her out...

I pulled inspiration for this layout from one I did a while back (November 2017) but tweaked it about a bit...

I have to say that I rather like the way this card turned out - it's very 'me'...I love the black, pink and cream colour combination and I think it turned out very feminine without being too girly... if that makes any sense?!

Right, off to do something...not quite sure what yet...but I hope you can find the time to play along with our fun challenge this week and look forward to seeing what you all create!

Hugs,
I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges :
Anything Goes until 19th
For Girls Only until 14th
Female closes tomorrow
(as I say in my post, I think my card turned out very feminine without being overly girly)
